Interesting, very interesting. I like how he describes the tribe as people. And the history of how a lot of hatred starts. I am sad that the dog died in this episode. Yet it showed how true love will stand and never give up.

Excellent return to form after the last two books. I just wasn't a fan of Nate's interactions with characters from the East who had no place on the frontier. And maybe it would have been better if those two books would have been spaced out. But this one is a great branching out in the opposite direction, exploring the Mexican frontier of the American southwest and the famous Apaches. This one was almost like an 80s vacation roadtrip horror plot but a Western and it worked really well. Maybe my second favorite of the series thus far after Mountain Devil. Onto the next one!

Surprisingly good and actually takes into account the horrors done to the native Americans by outsiders. I’d be interested in checking out more of the series.
