It would appear that, after two years of relative slacking, the Hero of Chaos is once again facing an ever-growing workload. Boxxy had been quite fortunate to obtain an exceptionally potent pawn with very little effort, but that was still effort it did not intend to expend. Sensing it might get dragged into things it really doesn't want to bother with, the creature makes haste to depart Velos and its orcs so that it may continue its private preparations for the upcoming Dragon Festival. Of course, it's never that easy. First, it has to make good on a deal it made to babysit not one, not two, but three spoiled brats. Normally it would just refuse, or at the very least just lock them up in a dungeon somewhere. Unfortunately, neither of those are attractive options when this job involves the deceitful shapeshifter's natural enemy - the Holy Inquisition of the Goddess of Truth and Justice, headed by Teresa's latest chosen Hero, Sigmund Law.
Boxxy really doesn't want to deal with any of that. It's got treasure to plunder, Levels to grind, and a bottomless pit of a belly to fill, to name a few things on its agenda. Aside from having better things to do, the very idea of this bothersome chore runs contrary to its monstrous instincts, not to mention it's absolutely nonsensical. What sort of weirdo thinks a wolf in sheep's clothing is the best candidate to look after three little pigs? The God of Uncertainty, that's who. It's a rare order from the big kettle himself, and Boxxy must comply or find itself stripped of the divine gifts that are vital to maintaining its public image. Between suffering through this inane task for the time being or watching its nation-spanning web of lies unravel, the choice is obvious. So, for better or worse, the industrious box gets busy figuring out how to squeeze 'babysitting' into its schedule.
Only to have those plans instantly shatter when it returns home to find the place in ruins.
I'm getting a bit tired of the series. I will probably continue with the next book, just because I guess I'm curious of how it will develop. But I'm ready for the story to be finished/concluded. Although it's pretty open still so I don't see how it will finish anytime soon.
Although Boxxy is so incredibly strong/overpowered at this point, not much can harm him (except through his familiars I guess).
DR (entertainment, non-educational) NB! To the best of my knowledge official and legal version of the story is published in full (finished work) on RoyalRoad. Wishing more people to enjoy the story go there and read for yourself and if you enjoy it splurge for the audiobook as SoundBooth theater has done an excellent work on voicing Everybody Loves Large Chests series.
Boxy's monster minions entourage is increasing in effectiveness. Preparing for dragon festival the monster gang practices teamwork, or as close to a teamwork as selfish demons can get, not getting in each others way. An enjoyable listen to have the occasional giggle and do chores in real life.
Conclusion: 4/5. Listened on Audible bought for 1 credit. Narrated by: Jeff Hays, Annie Ellicott,Dorrie Sacks, Justin Thomas James, Laurie Catherine Winkel, Will Watt, Lucky Byfleet, Gary Furlong. Neven Iliev continues to build Everybody Loves Large Chests world. Humor is still gutter level, but for those who enjoy it, it's great. Terrible value for the length of the book, buying it with USD- 2.47 $/hour ( 24.95 $ / 10 hrs 06 mins ).
If you've made it to book 10 you must agree with me that this is amazing and should go on forever. I don't want any more Marvel films, no more Star Wars or even another rebook of a classic 80s film. I want more Boxy.
This book did feel like a side story before the great dragon island Boxy is preparing for but it's still brilliant and the audio work is just fantastic.
I felt like this book took on a different feel than the previous books. I was waiting for cunning carnage but didn’t get any. Overall it was a good book to listen to whilst I worked out in the shed, but I missed the clever plays that boxy deploys. I feel like this book was maybe a filler so it didn’t score as highly for me.

Once again a ballpark homerun. Funny, and exciting. Again the author has continued to show a new breed of writers whose words and stories are a step forward in the evolution of writing. Kudos all round. Can't wait to read how Mr. Iliev is going to end this fascinating series.
This book felt a bit more directionless than previous books. Still an enjoyable enough read but not up to the same standard as the prior books in the series
I hope the author can find new footing and direction, or work towards a satisfying conclusion. My main concern is that the series will fizzle (without the sprocket) and I really hope it instead finds a good conclusion.
