This narrative will comprehend not only all the explorations made in past ages, but also all the new discoveries which have of late years so greatly interested the scientific world. (Translated by Dora Leigh.)
Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before people invented navigable aircraft and practical submarines and devised any means of spacecraft. He ranks behind Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie as the second most translated author of all time. People made his prominent films. People often refer to Verne alongside Herbert George Wells as the "father of science fiction."
I love Jules Verne, but this seems to be just a collection of events from different Adventures. The events are all just told like facts (whih they maybe are) but are not set into a good storytelling. It seems like it is just retold facts without storys.
