Rate this book
Lex & Ricky had it all in the big city, lots of friends and plenty of distractions. Suddenly they are uprooted to a house in the bush outside a small town in the mountains. Before they could walk to school and the worst thing they had to worry about was the traffic. Now they have to wait for the school bus and there are things out there that might eat them. About the author

I have come to understand that happiness is a byproduct of working at something you enjoy and not a goal in itself. It can be anything, a sport, musical instrument or hobby, as long as it takes effort and discipline. Some time ago I realized that one of the things that truly made me happy was writing.

Actually, I have written technical, marketing and magazine articles for over 20 years. Over the past few years I have been drawn more and more to the writing of fiction to find my energy and imagination. My work cannot be slotted into any one category, although speculative fiction would best describe most of my books. The Lex & Ricky series is my attempt to communicate some of the things I believe are worth knowing to my own children. As for the other work I will upload in the near future, it can best be summed up as Ray Bradbury summed up his work, "I want to write books that you won't find in any library already."

The Lex & Ricky Mysteries are meant to expose young people to the wonders of the natural world and our collective native heritage. It is tragic that we have separated and withdrawn from the real world to such an extent that we no longer see the mystery and wonders of nature that are our birthright. Most people cannot possibly imagine the rich natural, spiritual life they are denying themselves.

This book was offer as a free eBook via B&N and since it was a Halloween story, I thought, why not? I didn't realize this was a teen story and looks like the beginning of a series starring our main characters Lex (older brother) and Ricky. This book was a good mystery and adventure book geared more towards boys and a good way to get them more interested in reading. It teaches cultures, history, environmental issues a good deal about relationships. This book is educational without hitting them over the head with it. It has suspense and a pretty good plot-line. The adults in the story also have a few issues to deal with and that makes it easier for an adult reader to really get lost in the story. It's short (approx. 117 pages) so the story doesn't get heavy with symbolism, I recommend it even if your not a teenage boy.

Lex and Ricky are brothers whose parents divorced. Their mother moves them to a house outside the bush in the mountains. There are many stories about Bigfoot or the "Big One's" and Lex and Ricky are caught up in those stories. They end up finding a skull that could proved Bigfoot's existence, but they are chased and must return the skull to avoid getting killed.

This book was ok, not something I'd normally read.

Interesting story involving the legends of Bigfoot proving that there still remains a lot of wonder and mystery in the natural world. The main characters learn about their native heritage and local historical events such as the eruption of lava and poison gas from the Tseax Cone that killed thousands in the 1700's. Thought provoking and exciting read!

Enjoyed this story. I believe it was written for young readers. Don't know why they couldn't take a picture of the item they found before returning it to the place where they found it.
