(I'm writing this in November 2016 merely to report I have not been active on GoodReads for several years. I've been busying writing and editing books and haven't had the time or inclination to keep up with social media. I don't object to this sort of site on principle. It's just that I'm bothered by the way keeping up everything can suck up one's time and become an end in itself.)

A reference tool for Mark Twain lovers that covers everything about his work and the man himself, including his contemporaries. It has information on everything from his 'Jumping Frog' story to what life was like on the Mississippi in the 19th century.

An excellent A-Z encyclopaedia of all things Twain, from his literary works, including posthumous publications to his friends and acquaintances, houses and characters to general subjects such as steamboats, and the civil war in fact if Twain had anything to do with it it's here. A real must have for anyone interested in the great man and his works, I haven't read this book from cover to cover but intend to use it regularly from now on.
