The book "Snitch", by Norah McClintock, was an interesting book. I have finished reading this book, and I did not enjoy it that much in my perspective. I enjoy excitement, and things that would make me want to read more. I read another book by this author, and I enjoyed that one more. In this book called Snitch there were a lot of dialogue. Josh had been living in a group home after being ratted out by Scott, his one-time best friend. Josh also struggles to control his temper. Framed for a crime that he didn't commit, it took all of his new found strength to keep his cool and his freedom.
Josh had anger issues so he had to go to program at the vet and train dogs so that they could be trained and adopted to a lovely family. at first Josh hated it and then once the dogs started to listen to him he loved going to the shelter every day to work with them. I was overall an okay a book for me to get some easy points
Josh was kind of a troubled child. He was placed in a group home after getting snitched by Scott his former best friend. He now has to live with his brother and sister in law. He was placed in this program to help out with his anger. The program was to train dogs and Josh had to be calm for the dogs to listen. Josh never gets along with his sister in law causing him to just walk out of the house to calm down. One night when he went to go out he didn't think of it till the next morning. The cops show up at his door and Josh's brother asked Josh what he did the night before and Josh told the truth but his brother didn't believe him. Josh was accused of assaulting Scott. After going into investigation they found out that it wasn't Josh who assaulted him it was Andrew. The main characters were Miranda, Josh, Andrew, Scott. The three boys are all in the program because of their issues and Miranda is uptight. Some problems they encountered were bully, Josh breaking Miranda's favorite cup, and learning to teach the dogs to listen. If I was younger I could say I connect with Josh a little but now I don't think I could. Sometimes just walking out of a room or house when frustrated is something I do a little depending on the situation. This reminds me of community service. Getting along with other kids in the same situation and teaching stray dogs simple commands. My favorite part of the book was when Josh confronted Andrew about hurting the dogs. Andrew was a bully to Josh and Josh usually stayed clear of him. What the author did really well was Josh's relationship with his brother and sister in law. They didn't get along and she thought he was heartless until he replaced a broken object that she cared for very much. She said it was the best thing that he has ever done for her. The ending could have been better. I would like to know if the dogs ever got adopted or if Josh maybe got to adopt his dog.
This story is about Josh, a kid who grew up in in a group home and committed crimes with his partner Scott. Scott eventually snitched on Josh putting them both in an anger management course. The two main characters are Josh and Scott. These two friends stole women’s purses to pay their bills. In the book, they say it’s easy when two men in black jump an old lady. But once a woman did not let go and she got hit with it. Scott didn’t like what happened and he turned himself in and ratted josh out as well. I connected with Josh in a way when he had to train his dog for their management course. I’ve never trained a dog but I imagine it’s not easy like Josh he had no idea what to do until he was taught. It's interesting to train a dog to get rid of anger inside of you. In the book, they say that dogs respond most easily when you are calm and they don’t respond to anger or anxious people. So not only is the dog being trained but the people training them are building character and staying calm and collected. After finishing the book I noticed that the events were very predictable, I saw things coming and if there was a twist in the book it wouldn’t be a good one it would be very simple and boring. I don’t think I will read anything else produced by this author. I don’t think I would recommend this to anyone, there are many books I’ve read better than this. With more plot twists, better endings, and maybe some more adventure to the main characters.
Well Josh go to jail or not ? The book i've been reading for the last past weeks called Snitch by Norah McClintock's Which is a fiction book it all takes place at Josh’s brother Andrew cramped apartment along with Andrew’s family . During the modern time. The main character in my book is josh has to dealing with his anger and become the best person he can be or he will go to jail. The second main character is josh’s brother Andrew. which just want to help his brother josh and help him make the right decisions and always be there for him. I think another main character is Andrew’s girlfriend Miranda . Miranda hates josh and is always on his case about things. The main conflict or idea is that josh is Framed for a crime he didn't commit.but he finds a way to start dealing with his anger and has to be good for his freedom. So the way he started dealing with it was he was put in a vet and training dog program so that they can be trained and then adopted to a caring family. At first he hated it but once the dogs started to listen and pay attention to him he started to love it and then he would go to a shelter every day to work with the animals.and at they end of the day josh and his sister in law end up not hating each other because josh had broken one her favorite cup but then he replace it at the end . I think overall the book was really good I loved the story behind it and how he learned to grow and become a better person.
The author, Norah McClintock, reveals some important insight about young adults with anger issues. The author's emphasis on control sheds some light on how some people in the world don't have full control over their emotions. The author sets his work during a students school time. This is significant because it tells us that the even students go through difficult times. In my opinion, this novel was really nice to read because of how much it connected with me personally. To me, it seems obvious that lots of people have problems of their own, whether it's mental or physical. I feel that the author was hoping to inform more people of what others go through when they have anger management problems and that it is okay to ask for help. The character, Josh, struggles with anger management. As the story progresses, Josh becomes more calm, changing his character as the book goes along. A quote that really stuck to me was, "dogs are like little kids-they respond well to patience and kindness, and they don't respond well to anger." This quote wrapped up the story for me because it gave me an insight on what Josh will end up accomplishing.
When I was reading the book Snitch I really enjoyed it. It pulled me in with Josh’s criminal background and it kept me engaged by talking about his past throughout the story. In the book Josh goes to a program to help with his anger issues. In this program they learn how to train dogs and how controlling their emotions will help the dogs trust them and learn tricks faster. At first Josh’s dog wasn’t listening very well until all of the sudden he got calm and helped the dog learn new tricks. This wasn’t all the book had in store though. It had many more twists and turns. Overall I give the book 4 stars because of the lack of interesting word choice. Other wise it would be five stars.
this book was quick and easy to read. it tells somewhat of an easy-to-understand story. I don't recommend this book to anyone who doesn't like reading. it has a weak story that doesn't make much sense. it is a 2 out of 5 stars.
I didn't like the plot. it took over half the book to get to and it was very slow. it didn't have much to it and it was boring. the book is around 100 pages. it started to get interesting around page 50.
the book doesn't have a solid theme. it was about people with anger issues getting over them with dogs they have to train. it stalls a little about anger issues. the part where the dogs come in is when they start trying to help their issues.
The version of this book I have has 100 pages and big lettering. It wasn't a long story, but it I could feel anger like the main character did. This book is about a teenager named Josh who has anger issues and is put into a program to help with it. Many events strike his anger issues like his sister-in-law, Scott or even Travis. I kind of wish it was longer than it was because it just seemed so fast paced and I wanted to know more. I generally think I like realistic fiction because all the books I've beening reading are based on it.
Josh after getting into a fight finds himself living with his brother Andrew and his sister in law Miranda. Attending School during the day and a mandatory dog training class for his anger. Josh finds him in a dilemma when in walks Scott, the guy he got into a fight with and Travis, the bully who wants revenge. Will Josh be able to change his life of anger?
I thought this book was entertaining and the characters were relatable.
The book El Soplon is for people that are curious. It's funny and hides a secret. A group of teens who has anger issues need to decide if they want to go to a group were they make them talk about their issues or if the want to train dogs who have issues. Between two characters there's a secret that they don't want people to know.
This is the first "Orca" book that I have read and the best one so far the characters are great and makes you feel like you are there with them in the program with a dog it is great this is my new series of books for the rest of my life. I hope to read every one of them and I hope more people come to love these books as much as I do.
Josh had anger issues so he had to go to program at the vet and train dogs so that they could be trained and adopted to a family. At first, Josh resisted the help he needed. Once the dogs started to listen to him, he began to love going to the shelter every day to work with them. It was overall an okay a book and easy to read.
Good read for reluctant, below-level middle schoolers. Too short to develop characters or plot, but enough is there for worthy book group. It will feel age-appropriate for 7-8th graders, yet they will be able to quickly finish and feel a sense of accomplishment. I read it in under two hours.
I enjoyed how it showed Josh progress with his anger and how he slowly got closer to the people he was distanced with. I also enjoyed how it involved animals to help out with your emotions.
Just imagine your best friend that you used to hang out with everyday of your life, and he totally back stabs you by snitching on you for something he did and you where with just for the ride and to fit in with the flow. So there’s this boy named josh that is getting in too much trouble for his parents to keep up with it all. The last thing he did had him sent to his brother’s house to live with his sister in law and his brother Andrew. Andrew, joshes brother gets him into a dog anger management program to work on his troubles. So before all this happened josh got in trouble with the guy named scout which was his best friend and ends up meeting this guy 2 years later at a anger management for dogs. They have to treat dogs that are very mean and turn them into listening dogs who don’t pounce all over people. In my opinion if that happened to me, trying a new start and then running into the guy that got you in trouble in the first place at the place you’re trying to recover from. That would just irritate me so bad. Throughout the book it has so many emotions and excitements. It goes from being funny and joking around to serious harshness. I connect with the book because I’ve had someone completely turn on me and backstab the crap out of me. I know how it feels to get turned down by your family and have them totally ignore how you feel about it. In the end the book was a good read, it has a lot of interesting things to read about how a teenage life can go bad, and real fast.
Snitch is about a guy named Josh. He use to be a bit of a trouble maker, but is trying to turn his life around and make it better. He lives with his brother Andrew, his wife Miranda, and their 9 month old son Digby. He has to choose between two things: dog training or a jail cell. He chooses the dog training where they train naughty/disbehaved dogs to be better so they can get adopted. On his first day there he finds out Scott is there, one of his former best friends. Then, he gets chosen to be with the meanest and baddest dog in the place, Sully. He finally gets use to Sully but then Travis shows up, who is a HUGE trouble maker and gets everyone else in trouble. He was trying to stay out of Travis's way until someone gets hurt, and Travis blames it on Josh. Of course they have to question Josh with his past and all that stuff, so he has to get through all of it.
I really liked this book. I liked it because in a way it was uplifting, like Josh was trying to improve his life, and Andrew was trying to be the best brother to Josh that he could. My favorite character is Josh because he is brave, strong, and sort of patient. I really liked how it ended because it was a happy ending and I like bookstore that end happy. I would recommend this book to people around my age and older.
I have read snitch this semester and I enjoyed it but not as much as I enjoyed other books I have read this semester. This book is a good read for the most part because it is about a teenager with anger problems. I think a lot of teenagers can relate to this book because of all the stress some teenagers have and deal with. The main character has a brother he is living with for the mean while. “mostly Andrew was glad I was in the program because it would keep me out of the apartment for a couple of hours” (MicClintock.4).This quote shows how his brother is there for him and wants the best for him and work on his anger problems. This teen had other choices other than this program with working with dogs another option was sitting in a group and talking about it. “You can either go to a regular anger management program which is where, basically you sit around with a bunch of losers once a week and talk about what makes you mad and what you could do instead of punching a wall or person(1). In conclusion Snitch was a good read and I know a lot of teens can relate to it.
This book is about a boy named Josh, who is kind of a trouble maker. He lives with his brother, Andrew, and his brother's wife, Miranda. Josh has to go to a place where they train dogs to become more well-behaved so they can be adopted. Josh gets stuck training the meanest dog in there, Sully. He gets used to Sully, and things are going good. Until Travis shows up. Travis is a big bully. He ALWAYS gets people in trouble. One night, when somebody gets hurt, Josh is blamed and has to work through the situation.
Overall I liked this book. It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but it was alright. I like how it ended because it ended how I wanted it to end, happily. My favorite character is probably Josh's brother, Andrew. He is my favorite because he cares so much about Josh and wants to be the best brother/father. He knows what the right thing to do is. I would recommend this book to people my age.
I thought that this book was one of the best out of these series. It is very interesting because it is about a kid with anger managment poblems and he has to go into a faulicty that trains bad dogs. This story is about kid named josh thats in high school that needs to go into a angermanegment progam because he can't handle people being mean to him, and has the choice of going into a group councling, or dog training. He choose to do the dog training and it ends up being a benifent for him. Josh also has problems at home with his step partents that don't respect him enough. I think thst this book is an overall a good short book. It has a great storyline that make you feel like that your are connected one way or another. I think that this book is 5 of 5 stars. I would like to read more books like this one.
The book Snitch by Norah McClintock tells the story of a guy named Josh tries something new to cope with his anger issues. Overall I think the book was fantastic. I understood everything that was expressed in the book and it is an amazing book to read. I thought the characters in this book were very interesting people. They were like normal people with the same events happening. The problems the characters encountered were when one of the characters, Scott, had been hit and put into the hospital for fatal issues. I could deffinatly relate to Josh and his anger issues because I know that it os hard not to loose your temper sometimes and you just can't keep in all of your anger so you can just blow up here and there. I would recomend this book to people who like fast books with real life events happening in them.
What i learned from this book was that it really isnt such a good idea to be a snitch. As i think of it now i wouldnt want anyone to snitch on me if i was do something wrong. This book was about mainly these to boys who got into a fight n really didnt like each other anymore. So what they do to get back at one another is they snitch on eachother. They both were in this program together where they had to learn how to make a dog listen and get use to many others. They also had another friend named Travis. Travis became a friend of both Scott and Josh. It was almost as if he was in the middle of there problems. As the story went on they got over the fact of snitching on eachother and became good friends. This is apart of what i enjoyed about this book.
So far in the 22 pages I have read , this book seems interesting. It is about a Teenage boy named Josh who struggles with his anger. So his Brother Andrew insisted that he Take an anger management class to help. Instead of sitting in a circle and listening to other people talk about their anger and tantrums,Josh has to teach dogs how to behave. Josh lives with his brother Andrew and Engaged girlfriend Miranda. They live in a small apartment with 1 bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room. They also have a child named digby who is 9 mos.
The narrator of the story is a boy in an anger management program who is trying to turn his life around. He's given the job of training a dog as part of the program. I found the boy likable and interesting and hated the way he was picked on by those around him. I also liked how real and supportive his family and the workers in the program were. Honestly I'm surprised and pleased to find a hi-lo book with an interesting plot and a well-rounded character.
This book was about a boy who had issues. He had anger management problems. He lives with his brother and his brothers wife. They're parents had died so the boy has no were to go.
I cannot connect to this book. This boy was way too violent.
I gave this book 1 star. This book was HORRIBLE. Like Top Wing I fell asleep. That dude has to calm down. You can't just go around like wanting to kill everybody. By far one of the worst Orca Soundings book ever.
