Informative in many ways but seems to consistently feel the need to protect its subjects from true allegations of racism/discrimination.

I have fond memories of taking several weeks to read this book in 5th grade. I'm glad it was in my school library. Unlike some of the history classes I've taken, Breaking Barriers was so much more than a bunch of meaningless names and dates. This book is about women fighting for the right to vote, access to birth control, and workplace equality.
