Preface
Amarakosa is a very popular Samskrita lexicon. It has been published with a commentary of Ksiraswamin and a few others. Ksiraswami's commentary is out of stock. Mahesvara's commentary was first published in 1890, by Department of Public Instruction, Bombay. It was edited by Vamanacharya Jhalakikar under the supervision of Dr. R.G. Bhandarkar.
The present edition is the reprinting of Jhalakikar's edition with a few improvements.
It is hoped that this valuable lexicon will be very useful to the students and the teachers.
