Some chapters were helpful but it gives very corporate vibes, and is more of a sampling of different philosophical/spiritual self help topics. I think of this as more a “menu” of self-help that you can use as a starting point to dive deeper into that topic. I thought the exercises and incorporating his own poetry was…cheesy.
Emotions are critical elements of any communication, successful or not. In this book, Chuck Manz cogently, and in generally practical ways, addresses the challenges of managing our emotions. In short sections, he discusses 25 ways to help analyze and manage our emotions. They address and often integrate mind, body, and spirit. His point is that what works for one may or may not work for another, and so he provides a wide variety of approaches. I found several that made sense to me...others may choose differently than I, based on their own life experience, world view, or intellectual and spiritual needs. I think many will find something of value in this book.
