About the author

The legendary Janelle Taylor was born on June 28, 1944 in Athens, GA. In 1965, she married Michael Taylor with whom she had two children, Angela Taylor-MacIntyre and Alisha Taylor Thurmond. Ms. Taylor attended the Medical College of Georgia from 1977 to 1979 and Augusta State University from 1980-1981. She withdrew from the latter after she sold her first two novels. Today, she is the author of thirty-nine novels, three novellas, and many contributions to other collections. There are thirty-nine million copies of her works in print worldwide and she has made The New York Times Bestseller List eight times. Ms. Taylor's works have also been featured ten times on the "1 million +" bestseller's list at Publisher's Weekly.

Some of Ms. Taylor's most recent books include By Candlelight, Someday Soon, Lakota Dawn, and Lakota Winds (due out in paperback in May 1999). She has also made contributions to other books including The Leukemia Society Cookbook, Christmas Rendezvous, and Summer Love. In addition, readers can see her as co-host of the QVC/TV Romance Book Club Show.

Ms. Taylor's interests include collecting spoons, coins from around the world, ship models, dolls, and old books. She loves to fish, ride horses, play chess, target-shoot, travel (especially in her motorhome and out West), hunt for Indian relics, and take long walks with her husband. Reading, in particular books set before 1900 and current Biographies, Thrillers, Horror, or Fantasy novels, is also one of Ms. Taylor's favorite activities. She is also extremely active with charity work and was even featured on the cover of Diabetes Forecast in February of 1998.

She lives in the country on seventy-nine acres of woods and pasture with a lake and a catfish pond. She writes her novels in a Spanish cottage which overlooks a five-acre lake, a working water mill, gazebo, and covered bridge.

Such a great book!

Starlight & Splendor by #JanelleTaylor is a throwback from the 1994 & is book 3 of the series. I read this book way back when (it was my mom’s book!) & I have been thinking about it for weeks. So I decided to get the E-book to read it again! Multiple POV.

Amaya (daughter of Varian & Jana) is headed to Earth to visit for the first time. Galen (son of Varian & Jana) is the Security Chief on a starship. He meets Renah as she is now assigned to his starship. Renah is hiding her true identity from Galen & the entire galaxy. Renah & Galen are getting closer, Galen confesses he is attracted to her.

Amaya is in TX with her friend, Avi & her friend’s parents. Amaya meets Jason (Avi’s cousin) & is instantly attracted to him. Jason is attracted to her as well. There is a break in at the lab right after Renah & Galen were there. A Varian double was used & had the codes. Jason is intrigued by Amaya as she is very intelligent but the simplest things seem new to her. They spend time together sightseeing, sailing, dining out.

Galen introduces Renah to his parents as he feels she is the one for him. Renah confesses to Jana that she loves Galen. Is it the truth though? Amaya & Jason fall in love with each other & tell each other. Amaya tells him she has to go home but will try to come back soon. Amaya is scheduled to leave for Maffei & she decides to stay in TX with Jason. Amaya & Jason are in love. 🥰 Jason goes into the office & Amaya stays, unbeknownst to her she is being watched.

Renah is upset that an entire race of people almost were eradicated due to her family changing everything! She doesn’t know what to do. 😳 Amaya is kidnapped! She wakes up & she realizes she was drugged & is strapped to a table.

Varian sends Galen & Renah to Earth to bring Amaya back as she is needed back in Maffei. The kidnappers have held Amaya for weeks & she hasn’t told them anything. They then kidnap Avi’s grandparents to get her to talk. She refuses. Galen shows up to save Amaya. Jason was there at the same time ready to breach the building she was in! She tells Jason about Maffei & asks him to join her coming home. He decides to follow her they are both very deeply in love with each other & want to mate as soon as possible.

While Amaya & Jason are en-route to Maffei, Jana is injured by Renah’s family in an explosion at the lab. Jana recovers with no further issues. Renah plants a vial of the virus for Galen to find to give to Jana. Varian tasks Amaya & Jason to investigate all Counsil & security members. They do so & they come to the conclusion that it is Renah. Renah confesses everything under truth serum. Jana has Galen watch while Jana tells Renah the truth about her diabolical parents Cass & Taemin.

Renah sets a trap for her parents for Maffei to apprehend them. Her parents disintegrate themselves bs letting them be apprehended. Galen forgives Renah & they agree to mate. 🥰 Both Amaya & Renah decide to retire from Star Fleet, Jason will work with Varian. Jana & Varian have an oops moment & are having another baby! 😳🥰

This was one of those "screw it I want some mindless fluff" books that I read years ago. I actually found it pretty entertaining and a decent story for the type of novel that it is. I wound up reading the entire four book series. It's by no means a great literary piece of work, but if all you're looking for is a fun story and some mindless sex scenes, these books are for you.

I'll reread this one! Love, politics, espionage, all set in an intergalactic arena. Fun book!!
