This book offers a comprehensive overview of the Barba's ideology. The "floating island" is "an uncertain place that disappears under the feet, but can allow we meet and exceed our personal limits".
Barba defines, on the one hand, the actor who follows the established traditions and the demands of the theatrical market, but ,on the other hand, the "speed travelers" who discover that they can build other differents things which they had never thought before.
This book is a good example of one of the most important movements of contemporary theater: the anthropological theater.
It's worth reading.
