Egypt's Captive

Rate this book
After plotting against his incompetent king, Han and his supporters are driven from the Hittite Empire and seek refuge in Egypt. Instead, he finds only suffering. Taken captive by Prince Itamun to ensure the village of refugees will follow the pharaoh's will, Han plots ways to turn the young prince's desire for him into a weapon. Soon, desire becomes a double-edged sword and it's no longer clear who's seducing whom.

Itamun was sent to defend the borders of Egypt by his own father, Ramesses II. His heart heavy with the guilt of bloodshed, he's all too willing to seek relief in the arms of his captive. From the start, Han satisfies Itamun's dark needs for dominating a lover, desires Itamun never knew he had. But with so many scars on Han's soul, can Itamun ever convince his captive that they may have something more together than temporary pleasure?

Theorizing that one could completely lose track of her life within fiction, Dr. C. D. Leavitt led an elite group of fanfic writers into the Yukon to develop a top secret project. Pressured to prove her theories or lose funding, Dr. Leavitt prematurely started a book... and vanished. She awoke to find herself in an alternate history, suffering from a hangover. Fortunately, contact with her own time was maintained through brainwave transmissions with Diggy, her cat, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Dr. Leavitt can see and hear. Trapped in a past that never existed, Dr. Leavitt finds herself leaping from story to story putting things wrong that once went right and hoping each time that the next leap will be before the deadline.

Way to scratch my lusting ancient Egyptian itch.

[Edited: 12/29/13: See comments for sample]

Readers partial to m/m homoerotic historical fiction of a blended military adversarial romance peppered with a light spontaneous BDSM/power exchange theme..might enjoy this.

I am of the firm belief that the phenomenal talent and skill that goes into writing quality historical fiction is vastly underrated.

Ancient Egypt a favored period in my favorite genre historical fiction. Nothing holds more appealing material with its multitude of sub-genres, periods, places and themes..than that of historical fiction. Add in an effective homoerotic m/m element..and for me nothing is a more powerful reading aphrodisiac.

Considering I fancy myself a self-professed historical fiction connoisseur, I must overstate my profound enjoyment and immense appreciation for this writer's hard work in this authentically-detailed, fictional-flavored homoerotic romance. It was beautifully domineering and passionately written given its short-length (my only complaint).

Last but not least, in defense and recognition of this writer's meticulous research..I couldn't help note some of the reviews regarding historical accuracy. I'm assuming readers understand the definition of fiction? Click here for an informative and detailed definition of it.

It's light-sm story with Ancient Egypt as background. Absolutely not historical. All concepts and values in this was very modern, which, mega-clashed with it's own setting. Writing style is very dry. Can't see why it gets good review.

A smoothly written, gripping novel with excellent worldbuilding and an unusual, moving lovestory - non-vanilla.

A sweet and sexy m/m romance set in an idealized ancient Egypt. I liked it a lot and recommend it if you are in the mood for a quick, light, heartwarming (and hot!) read.

Pretty sure this is nowhere near historically accurate, but it at least attempts and kind of captures a bit of the flavor of the spirit.

Read for fun and not for depth.
