Show your love for dads on Father's Day and every day with I Love My Daddy! Perfect for cuddling and sharing. Sometimes daddies are loud and playful. Other times they are quiet and compassionate. And they are always loving. Appealing text and charming illustrations follow a day in the life of a bear and his bear cub in this celebration of the bond between father and child. "Perfect for little hands and bedtime stories, your tiniest readers and favorite dad will adore this papa bear and his cub." (Brightly)
"I’m French and studied fine and applied arts at Strasbourg University. I taught applied arts before becoming a freelance illustrator, first of all for editorial clients in Paris. When I moved to London in 2000 I developed my illustrations for children and since then have been working exclusively on children’s picture books.

Not gonna lie, it hurt the "mama" to hear baby Grace just yell out "DADA" as we were reading this book and look at her daddy. But I can't fault the book. It is a sweet story that any kid will find comparison in their daily activities. The illustrations are soft and lovely.
An adorable little story to share with the babies in our lives.
The book: I Love My Daddy is a board book that details all of the wonderful things fathers do for us in the simplest terms. Each page is a cute image of a daddy bear and a baby bear doing various activities - sitting, bathing, chasing, etc. - with only a single line of text.
Such an adorable book! I love how the baby bear and daddy bear do everything together. It shows that daddies are a huge part of children’s lives—just as much as moms. If you are looking for a cute one, look no further
Somewhere deep within me, lives an unrepentant, uncivil, antediluvian man-demon-homunculus-spirit. He has been lurking in the dark parts of my psyche since Probably before I knew I was a boy, and in the shadows of our ancestors since…since they had the prominent brow ridges.
This man has revealed himself to me on the odd occasion—right in the middle of my civilized life.
Sometimes he has made himself known by prompting me to substitute the word “dad” or “papa” or “father” into books (there are so many of them) about mothers who love their children, or into books about children who love their mothers.
This substitution trick usually elicits laughter —or howls of protest—from my sons, and amuses me to no end, but once I get started with this little joke, that’s how the book gets read, from start to finish, regardless of the consequences. That is a man in an apron, and he loves his children. That man is making dinner for his children, who he loves. That man is sweeping the floor because he loves his children and wants them to be happy. Those children love their papa because he reads them bedtime books. Etc.
I Love My Daddy mollified the antediluvian man-devil in me. Nothing needed to be changed, because it was perfect. Thanks mom, for giving this one to me and my littlest one.
Ps: for older kids, I recommend the movie “the bear.” That’s a great father son movie where a male bear (and a man) play decisive roles in the life of a young cub.
Pps: if you have gotten this far in the review, check out city dads on meetup.com and please pass it on.
Braun, Sebastien I Love My Daddy. BOARD BOOK. Harper Collins, 2017. $7.99
This is a simple board book that celebrates the relationship between a child and their father. The baby bear narrates the story, telling all the things Dad does for him--feeding him, playing with him, cuddling him, etc. All of these things are reasons he loves his dad. I liked this little book that will be perfect for the youngest readers. The illustrations are in a soft lighting that makes the whole book feel peaceful and sweet. Kids will love reading this one with their own dads.
Need a gift for a dad-to-be or new father? This is it The pages exude love in ways that make the reader and listener feel all cuddly. Bonus: The cub and Daddy are rendered without gender! There's more in the full review.
A very cute story about all of the different things that daddy bear does for baby bear. Filled with beautiful illustrations of a very soft palette, this is the perfect bedtime book - relaxing for all readers. Daddy loved reading this to our little one (who is already a huge fan of her dada!).
It's hard to describe just how much this book means to me at the moment; my son "got" this for me for Father's Day, and it was a long-time staple of our bedtime routine (along with Sandra Boynton's The Going to Bed Book). The story itself is just a Daddy Bear and a Baby Bear enjoying a day together, and I loved to read this with my son.
A daddy bear does lots of things to look out for his cub, but the one thing the cub does in return is more than enough.
I always like a good daddy book, and this was a great one. The illustrations are charming and original, there's a lot to look at and think about, and there's a nice turnaround at the end. The Boy (2.75) and I act it out as we read along.
I read a copy of this from the publisher via work, with no obligation to leave a personal review.
So, so sweet. I have a particular weakness for daddy stories, since moms receive lots of deserved love but dads should get some too. This one is paired with warm illustrations and perfect, simple text, to give you all the warm and fuzzies.
This soothing bedtime read tells the story of a loving father bear and a very lucky cub. Sebastien Braun's furry pair spends happy times together in a gentle woodland setting; their unfeigned happiness and warmth visible in every evocative two-page spread. As festive as a splash in the pond.
Wonderful book to read with my 2.5-year old son. He can almost read the Book by looking at the wonderful pictures. We have some other father son books, but this is the only one that prompts him to give me a hug.
A large hardcover book with beautiful painted illustrations, and very simple text, it's appropriate for only the smallest of babies. The book dicusses all the things Daddy does with his son.
