An up close look at helicopters, sometimes called whirlybirds, eggbeaters or choppers. This book tells the history of this amazing flying machine, and its many uses in society, and around the world.

Emerson went wild for this book this morning. It's a long one--5 or 6 little chapters with lots of great photos of helicopters in action. He went and got his police helicopter and we sat with it, the book and us in the chair. We were able to identify all the parts on the helicopter after reading the first chapter. Very nice book.

Though obviously to short to tell the whole truth about choppers and copters, it's still neat what we can learn about these machines.
