I've no doubt that erudite people can follow Champagne's (probably) brilliant arguments. I just can't keep up with him.
Also, I don't personally like authors who engage more with referenced works than with their own.
Overall, I'm sure this is a wonderful piece of academic work, I just need a couple more PhDs to decipher it.
