I so loved this line...."Lieutenant Daniel Taylor: Have you found Jesus yet, Gump?
Forrest Gump: I didn't know I was supposed to be looking for him, sir."

This is a book that are full of humorous and encouragement. To be honest, I have already watched the movie version before I started the book. In addition, I have never know this book/film until one of my teacher motivated me to start the film, and I was really surprised with the film. Therefore, I decided to start the book. Due the "silliness" of protagonist, the whole story seems very funny but also unreasonable/unrealistic. However, this is a story that we could move in depth with. The protagonist starts with a mental disable person that have to use some sort of walking equipment. His success is not just about his luck, but I believe is because of his practicing. Seeing him from a person who needs equipment to walk to a successful person, it provides us a huge encouragement and motivation.

Don't get me wrong. This is a fantastic read. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because they were so many coincidences that felt unrealistic that there was too high of a "cheesy" factor. Otherwise, I would've given it five stars. Amyone who wants to enjoy an extremely entertaining character and wildly fun storyline, will love this book. I also saw the movie, which I also enjoyed, but found equally cheesy. Have fun with it!

Forrest Gump is a story about a mentally disabled man and how he finds his way in the world. The book is told through his perspective in a manner that is rather simple. Throughout the book he has his ups and downs through out his life but he ends up rather being very successful and also very lucky as well. I would recommend this book to anyone and the reason I gave this 5 stars was because the author has Forrest tell his story so simple that even the smartest of them can sometimes be dumbfounded.

I can see that the movie was based on this book, but the movie took A LOT of artistic license. Essentially Gump is way more flawed than the movie would suggest.

Most of the events in the movie occur in some fashion in this book, but way more stuff happens to him in the book.

It was interesting reading the book of a movie I like so much. I won't be able to watch the movie again without boring the c**p out of everyone with "that's not how it happened in the book" commentary.

4. I like Forrest's personality because he is strong and tried anything. I think he has many talents, but he doesn't have fortunate.
5. I thought Forrest is strong. If Iwere idiot, I wouldn't be alive like Forrest. I hope all idiot can live like Forrest, and read this book. I heared the movie is published, so I want to watch it.

I read the book in about 34hrs. It was totally unexpected and was a hilarious account of a man I still wonder is real. The story is a non-stop rollercoaster ride that had me laughing out loud with every page. I recommend it to anyone who wants something out of the ordinary!

Awesome. I would love reading the book rather than the movie. Especially it is so funny.

If you are reading this book to get a better look at the character Tom Hanks played in the movie, this is absolutely not the book for you. There is very little that ties the two together. Normally I like the book much better than the movie, not the case on this instance.

One of the best books about a simple man who always wants to do good but has many interuptions in his life. Vietnam, shrimp fishing, and lots of wealth.

Finally sat down and read this, and was glad that it wasn't like the movie. Very good read.
