This non-fiction book is about the Muslim holiday Ramadan. It has one sentence per page with a picture to match; each explaining an aspect of the holiday. As a literacy teacher, I would use this book to teach students how illustrations in print, match the text stated on each page. It also has a glossary of a couple of terms mentioned in the text that would help the students learn any new words in the book. There was no indication that the author is associated with this religion, but they have written other books in a series that this book is included in called "Little World Holidays and Celebrations." The author wrote six picture books for children about different holidays. The author gives simple facts that young children will be able to understand, and the illustrations are the objects or practices stated in the sentences. This book relates to my topic of religion because it is explains an important religious holiday from the Islamic religion.
