This story of vampirism as a virus was a great concept. I can see this being turned into a much longer novel, with discussions on what happens when you hit the third stage and you get sent to the Farm. The discussion between man and wife made me think of how difficult a conversation would be if discussing AIDS.

Let's expand on the story, shall we? Hubby is now completely vampirized and is almost done waiting the three days for wifey to join him. Is he having second thoughts? Does he wish he was with the tramp from work who was so lonely when she bit him? But no. He would be going a little stir crazy waiting for wifey, and consumed with thoughts of the Farm. Are there rooms at the Farm for couples? Or do they just allow conjugal visits? Or, maybe, all hell breaks loose at the Farm and the inmates are running the asylum? So many venues this short story could go down. Write more, Pete Clark, dammit!

I liked the premise of this story and the idea of treating vampirism like another virus (complete with quarantine and medical phamphlets) however I feel it could have done with a little more detail and background. Although the characters came across quite flat and shallow there were hints that there was a lot more going on, both between them and in the wider world, which I would have liked to have read about. As a short story it's not bad but a few extra pages wouldn't have gone amiss, still promising though.

I liked the premise of this short story: of a virus that is spreading like an epidemic and later identified as strains of vampirism. There are several levels, you see, and the husband is on Stage One.

What follows is a series of discussions between husband and wife as to the causes of the husband becoming infected and ultimately, of how the couple will deal with this when he invariably worsens. Off to the Farm he shall be carted.

A couple are awaiting the test results for the husband to come out.. He is stage one already.. If it develops to stage three then it's to the Farm for him.
What is this virus that is spreading like an epidemic?! And how did he get it?!
I don't want to spoil the story but it's called Vampirism :)

This was a very short but enjoyable read. I wish it was a longer novel, I loved the idea. It was the second book I read for this author and since I'm enjoying his writing I'm gonna go look for more books by him.
