Aidan Ghallager has never held any love for humans. That is, he didn’t until Jenna Stone slipped through his defenses and made Aidan care enough to go on a rescue mission to free her sister. No good deed goes unpunished, Aidan finds out, and he’s captured by Jenna’s father who hates all Night Creatures, Dragons like Aidan included. Aidan’s not going to take his imprisonment lightly, but when he meets Rowan Stone, Jenna’s sister, it isn’t just himself he needs to fight for. For Rowan is his mate, and Aidan will do anything to protect her, love her, and keep her with him…forever.

Return to the exotic, erotic world of the Night Creatures in Forever Rowan. I’ve been waiting for years for Violet Summers to continue this series, and the authoresses did not disappoint. Aidan is hotter than any fire-breathing fairytale dragon and twice as hardened. His past – which is too intriguing to spoil – has scarred him, but Rowan breaks through his heard exterior to the caring man beneath. She’s had more than her own fair share of torment and, like Aidan, it hasn’t broken her. The pair of them heal one another, even as the dark force that is Rowan’s father works to destroy them. I loved watching Rowan and Aidan fall in love and I couldn’t stop reading Forever Rowan once I started because their story was so engaging.

Forever Rowan is the second book in the Night Creatures series, but you won’t get lost if you haven’t read Saving Jenna. There’s enough information provided in Forever Rowan to allow new readers to dive right into the world of the Night Creatures, but I highly recommend reading Saving Jenna anyway because it is absolutely fan-tas-tic!

The only downside to writing a review for Forever Rowan is that so much happens in the story that I just can’t talk about without spoiling readers’ fun. I will say that there are not one, but two subplots in Forever Rowan that make me desperate for more Night Creatures stories. Really desperate. Edge-of-my-seat-ready-to-plead-with-the-authors-for-a-certain-Vampire’s-story-desperate. That being said, I adored Forever Rowan and will happily re-read both it and Saving Jenna while I wait for future stories in the wildly addictive Night Creatures series.

Not as gripping as the first story was, sadly. My main problem with Aidan and Rowan's story was that I didn't believe their love. We get a decent picture of the type of abuse Rowan has suffered at the hands of her father and his wicked experiments, and the fact that she is still standing shows how tough she is. I absolutely believe her fierce loyalty to her sisters, and that at heart she is a warrior, or a tough cookie at the very least. When Aidan is captured and she is brought in to care for him, but he hates humans and tries not to analyze his initial assessment of her tough/fragile nature. When he catches a glimpse of her scars from many years of torture, his manly/dragon instincts kick in that make him feel protective of her. Then the unthinkable happens, at least to him, the mating bond kicks in – a flash of light, a puff of smoke and poof ... she's his wife and there will never be another woman in his life (good because that fling with that psychotic vampire bitch left a nasty taste in my mouth). Rowan's father tells her that he knew the bond would happen; his experiments told him that the dragon was compatible with her, and now he wants their offspring. Horrified at the prospect, Rowan knows she can't let that happen. And here is the crux of my problem with this story. A pregnancy equals very bad things, yet once they give in to their desires, they have sex, multiple times, without protection. Hello? Why?

An interesting revelation about Erin, a rescue and some drama wrapped up this story nicely though. I hope we'll get Erin's story next and maybe Sebastian's as well. Anyway, I'm giving this 3.5 stars because despite the slight disconnect I felt with the H/H, I still liked how Aidan overcame his biggest hangups and that two tortured souls found love, comfort and acceptance with one another.

Aidan Ghallager thinks he can escape anything, but he’s proven very wrong after he’s captured by William Stone and his band of maniacs. Aiden figures he’s a dead dragon, but William has other plans for him—plans that include William’s daughter Rowan. The human daughter of a megalomaniac, Rowan has endured torture and humiliation her entire life. Meeting Aidan makes her want that to change, but her father has plans to breed her with the dragon in hopes of creating super grandchildren for his evil plans. They could have a happy life together—if they can escape.

Forever Rowan is the second in Violet Summers’ The Night Creatures Series, and it is fantastic. The chemistry between Rowan and Aidan explodes very quickly and doesn’t slow throughout the seventy pages. There’s an engaging mix of good and evil and every point in between. I can’t wait to read the other stories in this series and would recommend Forever Rowan to anyone who enjoys darker paranormal romance.

Lorien's Review

Forever Rowan is one of those stories that reaches out and grabs the reader’s attention at the start. It definitely brings out the heartfelt emotions and characters in the story. The pain and triumph that Rowan dealt with were both shocking and fascinating to read.

When her evil father captured and implanted a computer chip on Aidan that makes it impossible for him to shift to his dragon form, Rowan attends to his care. While Aidan despises the human race, he soon realizes his desire and bond to Rowan. As the two spends more time together, an attraction between them builds up and puts their lives in more danger.

The writing team of Violet Summers created an engaging plot full of emotional tension and hot romance. Characterization played an important role to the story and I enjoyed the interaction between Rowan and Aidan. Fans of sizzling paranormal romance and emotional storyline will enjoy this book.
