Taking the most simple of concepts, this is a trawl through the photographic archives of The Daily Mail (and other sources) with key events, personalities and entertainment represented with little write-ups alongside each. Covering everything - the changes in England, Royalty, the weather, what’s on TV or at the cinema, key events in the news (including major accidents and wars) - this is great fun, especially if - like me - you lived through the decade. If I had a quibble, it would be the inclusion of some US spelling (fall?) and sporting events, when the rest of the book is clearly aimed at the UK market, but that’s a minor issue. Great fun, very nostalgic and a real memory booster, I loved it.
