A Certain Wolfish CharmThe rules of Society can be beastly—especially when you're a werewolf and it's that irritating time of the month. Simon Westfield, the Duke of Blackmoor, is rich, powerful, and sinfully handsome, and has spent his entire life creating scandal and mayhem. It doesn't help his wolfish temper at all that Miss Lily Rutledge seems not the least bit afraid of him, and in fact, may be as untamable as he is...When Lily's beloved nephew's behavior becomes inexplicably wild, she turns to Simon, the boy's cousin and guardian, for help. But Simon's idea of assistance is far different than hers, and Lily finds herself ensconced in his house and engaged to the rogue. They both may have bitten off more than they can chew when each begins to discover the other's darkest secrets...Tall, Dark and WolfishLord Benjamin Westfield is a powerful werewolf—until one full moon when he doesn't change. His life now shattered, he rushes off to Scotland in search of the healer who can restore his inner beast, only to find she's not at all what he expected...Young, beautiful witch Elspeth Campbell will do anything to help anyone who calls upon her healing arts. Then Lord Benjamin shows up, and she suddenly discovers she may need him even more than he needs her...The Wolf Next DoorEver since their failed elopement years ago, Prisca Hawthorne has taunted, insulted, and in every way tried to push him away. If only her heart didn't break every time Lord William Westfield left her...Lord William throws himself into drinking, gambling, and debauchery and pretends not to care about Prisca at all. But when he returns to find a rival werewolf vying for her hand, he'll stop at nothing to claim the woman who should have been his all along. Can Prisca forgive the unforgivable, or are the moon-crossed lovers going to be forced into a battle of wills that could be fatal?

Picked this up in order to try out my library's ebook lending program. Seems to work fine, but the borrowing time Is only 7 days so I had to read fast! (Also the software is not as ice as the Kindle software, but that's for another forum...) Anyway, this is a trilogy of paranormal regency romance, sub genre werewolves. I think it was above average overall. The characters were likable, the supernatural elements were cool, and there was a liberal sprinkling of humor. The author has set up several future books as well. A superior pick if you like the genre!
As a light romance novel, it works. The regency setting though is missing a number of key details, like why is a 19 year girl, still unmarried and without a dowery raising her six year old nephew while his guardian spends the next six years conversing strictly by letters and sending money. Then there is no mention of her maid or employment status which is just the beginning of the issues with the Regency England period setting. Good read if you don't know the time period, but avoid it.
A nice intro to the series. The women have spine and the men have bite. The Westfield men are pretty clueless when it comes to true love. Which is interesting because their parents had a great relationship.
Loved all 3 brothers /wolves Westfield and their mates stories. My first regency/paranormal series! I already bought the other 3 wolf Ebooks and enjoyed them. The related vampire stories that link the other witches in the coven are fun too! I never read vampire romance, but these characters had me buying that trilogy too. I highly recommend Lydia Dare books. I'm so glad I bought them all on Amazon ebooks while they were all available.
Werewolves in the Regency period was an interesting premise. Characters are a bit stock, nothing unexpected, but I did like reading the stories. Not Patricia Briggs, Michelle Sagara, or Ilona Andrews, but decent to read.
I reviewed these three when I read them previously. Obviously they warranted a second read and I enjoyed them just as much this time. Now I have my own copies.
September 2021: I will get back to this review soon.
