Reading Isaac Asimov always becomes a gentle reminder of how desperately we need more people like him in this world. Im really tired of dealing with stupidity every day in Ecuador, not just here but I think the "moron pandemic" has been upon us every day and almost everywhere.
Books and real science are the only tools we, humans must use in order to combat the parts of our brains that are still primitive.
Asimov takes you on a trip, a real amazing one, and questions everything. We must remember that Asimov loves to tell stories and knows a lot (and by this I really mean A LOT) of history, so, it may seem a bit dense or dull at times, specially in parts in which Paleonthology is the main subject. I actually didnt know he managed to pull those explanations off, he was a genius.
Anyway, despite of the book being written in 1987, it postulates theories that are being proved to the present day, so, he tackles questions such as.. What is life? or How did life came to be?
If you were expecting a story about robots, hell no... the book its about evolution, paleonthology, archaeology, biochemistry, biology, physics and cosmology all packed in his words. Wonderfull read.
