This classic has been rewritten and enlarged to contain the answers that Dr. Price found to his question: "Why are so many not healed when they are prayed for?" The answers that will set you on the right path to your healing, as they have helped thousands of others.
Dr. Charles S. Price (1887 -1974) was a highly educated, liberal Congregational pastor, who was dramatically converted to Christ while attending an Aimee Semple McPherson tent meeting in the early 1920s. Soon afterward he experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit and became a powerful evangelist. His first meetings triggered revivals that shook the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Following were well over 20 years of healings, miracles, and great oratorical preaching in packed auditoriums throughout North America. His ministry had a profound influence on the ministries of countless others.
For many of us that were brought up in the faith message this is Audible must read. It's so important not to get caught up in confessing the written word to make something happen while being detached from the Word Himself. This book will bring you back to the Answer-Jesus. I want to see more breakthroughs personally, more people healed, more delivered. Its only through our union with Jesus. Read this treasure and take it to heart!
Excellent book. It explains the difference between real faith and fake, make-believe faith. It explains why we often don't get answers to our prayers. It's because we don't have real faith. It explains how to get and use real faith.
This book helped me realize more deeply the need I have to understand the true nature of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Truth that He came to live in me…and that everything I need is found solely in Him.
I think in certain ways, this answers some of my questions about faith healings. And also affirms that you really can't *faith yourself* until it happens.
I have to think about this more.
But to really sum this book up in its core message (for me, at least) is that faith (for something specific to happen) isn't something that you work up and you try to make yourself believe. It's something that's deposited in by God and you will feel that affirmation in your spirit that tells you "it may be impossible, but since God is in it, He will do it."
Charles Price wrote “The Real Faith” many decades ago, and yet his words are as powerful and needed now as when he wrote them. The idea that real faith is the imparted faith of the Lord himself seems like a mostly foreign concept to the current church. I hope we “re-learn” how to acquire this faith now, when it is most sorely needed.
“The whole message of the story is the fact that such healing is not dependent upon the development of a perfect faith by any processes of self at all; but rather on that contact with Jesus”
I’m doubtful that there is another book, other than the living Word, that has so deeply impacted my heart. There is doubtful another book that brought me to my knees in encounter with the Savior as I’ve read its words. Read this book with an open heart and an invitation to the Holy Spirit to speak. He will meet you! I’m changed. I want to live no life apart from my Jesus. Blessed Savior!! By grace, through his faith, we are saved, healed, and delivered. Oh what a joy when we look unto the man with fire in his eyes!!
Through reading this book and others like it, I’ve been challenged to reconsider the traditions of my faith that may not have as strong a biblical warrant and especially a history of lending themselves to the encounter of the living God. I found the author’s view of faith to square more consistently with the teaching of the doctrine throughout the Scriptures. Again, reading books like this one that challenge my preconceive notion‘s of what things like faith mean biblically have made me dig in deeper to the Scriptures and I find myself understanding many passages much better when I borrow the view put forth in this book. In this case it was the authors view of faith that when I borrowed it for the sake of reading the Scriptures, a lot made sense that otherwise didn’t and I found that I didn’t need to explain away the clear teachings of scripture to make my previous view of faith fit. I just dictated this whole review so hopefully the grammatical mistakes aren’t as bad as I imagine they might be.
This book is an updated language version of the earlier edition that I read called simply The Real Faith by Charles S. Price. It is a mind settling breath of fresh air on the workings of God in answering prayer and bringing healing to people. The book itself inspires faith and releases those from condemnation who are experiencing delays in receiving answers to their prayers. It does not represent the thinking of the faith healers that are a part of the prosperity gospel. Outside of the Bible, it is possibly the most valuable book I have read.
The author reveals through scripture what our hearts desires always wanted to experience, His presence through surrender. I am sure this will be one to read often.
This is my second time through and yes, deeper revelation comes up with more knowledge. My mind is stuck on the Oneness of God manifested through Christ.
This is an excellent book. Never read such an inspiring book on faith. I believe I've learned more about Real Faith from the teaching of Charles Price than any of book I've read in the past.
