I read this book with a three-year-old recently, and when it was over he asked for a repeat read. Much of the story is told through the colorful, detailed images. They contain lots of moments for discovery and surprise!

This is an entertaining story about a rough night for a dog. The poor pup is just doing his job, but it isn't appreciated by his family. The narrative is fun to read aloud and the illustrations are nicely detailed. The aliens are quite bizarre and we loved looking at the motley creatures. We enjoyed reading this book together.

The kid reading this on youtube went too fast to see the marvelous pictures well; too bad my library system doesn't have a copy. The story is workmanlike.
