[Menage Erotic BDSM Menage a Cinq Romance, M/F/M/M/M, public exhibition, orgies, sex toys] When Piper agrees to go on vacation with her friend at an exclusive sex resort, she finds it has more surprises than she is ready for. Because what Piper doesn’t realize is that when she agrees to play a submissive for two weeks, it won’t be with only one dominant man, but four. Piper finds out she has been hand selected to not only submit, but to be possessed and conquered by the towering men. To make matters worse, the four men that have chosen her to play their sex slave are the sovereign and arousing Grayson brothers--her employers and the men she has been lusting after. With her identity hidden behind a mask of feathers and jewels, Piper allows herself to experience the delicious pleasures that only the Grayson brothers can conjure within her. But soon she realizes it isn’t only her body that is in the game, but her heart as well.
Forgive the BDSM-inspired imagery, but I went into this book blindfolded (figuratively, of course!) - I read the title, glanced at the cover, and decided that this could be a delicious way to spend an hour of "me time". What I didn't do was read a synopsis of the book beforehand. I should have read the synopsis...
The book's main character is Piper Crane, a slightly timid and sexually repressed secretary who works for one of the city's most prestigious law firms. After some good-natured cajoling from her best friend, Piper decides to take a two week vacation to a sex spa where all her deepest submissive dreams can be fulfilled. So far, so good.
As it turns out, Piper's first foray into dominance and submission goes from training wheels to a runaway train when she is selected to spend her vacation with not one, not two, but four "masters" at the same time. All prime examples of the male gender, Jake, Brendin, Logan, and Ian, just happen to be Piper's bosses at the law firm where she works (only in the world of short stories and erotica would this be even remotely plausible, but let's roll with it). There's just one more tiny detail you should know about these men: they're brothers.
Yes, brothers. Everything inside me instantly went, "ick!" I don't know about you, dear reader, but I don't find the thought of four brothers sharing a single woman (often at the same time), to be a particularly large turn-on. Rather than stop reading, however, I chose to do some mental re-writes and live in a cozy world of denial where the four men were best friends instead of brothers. Sue me.
One thing I appreciated about Bittersweet was the concept of the sex resort that Snow has developed for this novel. It's a fairly fresh idea in the genre and has a lot of potential as a setting for her future stories. And I've got to cop to the fact that the whole employee-boss dynamic is a particular favourite of mine (I find authority and power play tres sexy).
Verdict: Overall, I have to agree with some of the other reviews of this book - it was predictable, and rather tame for the D/s genre, but some of the sex scenes were hot enough to have me reaching for a second book by the same author (only after reading a synopsis, of course!).
Piper is an every day woman working to survive. She doesn't usually do anything out of the ordinary, but agrees to go to a sex resort with her best friend for two weeks. Upon arriving, her best friend deserts her, so she decides to make the most of her vacation.
She's always had a secret fetish for being someone's submissive, so she signs up a fantasy. When four men pick her for their sub, she's shocked that they're actually her four gorgeous employers. Luckily she wears a mask (and little else) during their sex games because she fears losing her job if they find out she's really their secretary.
This story was all about the sex, and there is a LOT of it. Jenika Snow is a talented author, and I look forward to reading more of her work. If you're looking for a titillating tale with some D/s in the mix, this is a great short read.
This was a sweet book. The ending tidied up a bit quickly and predictable. Still, this was my first book with this author and I ended up purchasing her other books. I enjoyed it and am likely to purchase future books written by her.
While this could be classified as BSDM, its actually pretty tame. This is more kinky than anything else. The resort Ms. Snow creates is more intriguing. Hope she delves more into the resort in future books and turns up the heat.
Implausible, poorly written, horrible grammer. Author seems to know nothing about D/s - a "Dominate" ? Please don't waste your money! Thank God it is not lendable!!!
This story follows a typical formula of dominant brothers falling for their timid secretary and claiming her finally after a lot of hot steamy sex.
Piper is a timid secretary and decides to try exploring her horizons by signing up at a sex resort for a week of submission and sex. She’s had a thing for her bosses, rich famous lawyers but they are all hard men.
At the resort Piper gets selected by her men, however in keeping with the resort rules she wears masks throughout her week of no holds barred sex. Emotions come into play naturally and the week is finally up. Things go back to normal of sorts, but Piper finds out she’s pregnant and resigns. The men come after her and everything is settled.
The Good: is the concept of the sex resort effectively allowing for the story to progress faster and move without any of those pesky outside world realities to set in.
IF ONLY: there was more development of the men on page and a little more page time was allowed for them too, would have us invested in the story more. Piper getting pregnant seemed a bit of a reach, and the men suddenly coming after her letting her know they knew it was her was a bit difficult to sync with the progression of the story. The story concluded very quickly after that revelation and that was a little sad.
Read this for: these formulaic harem novels for the sexy times hot alpha men not much plot device

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! This book was sexy as hell. The men are sex walking with very big sticks, the sex is freakin amazing and the story line left me wanting more. I loved everything about this story except that it ended. The sexual chemistry between Piper and the Grayson men was so intense I had to break out my B.O.B. and a fan. Lol. I highly recommend this book to everyone. 221 pages of pure pleasure but I really would have loved for there to sequel about their life after.
I read these in thewrong order but they werent linked storywise so it didnt matter.
I enjoyed this. Only let down was there wasnt much variation between this and Breathless (D/s #3) The two stories were pretty much mirrored with just the names and location changed. I didnt list this on my BDSM shelf because apart from three spanks and a touch of bossiness, the rest was tame.
I did enjoy it! The ending was kinda annoying, but otherwise it was a good read. LOADED with TONS of HOTTTT SEX!!!I would say over 90% of the book. Def. book porn! LOVE IT!!! My favorite type of book!
