Since I was young, I would look up from my books to find people talking about the world and I felt as if they knew nothing at all about the world outside of themselves. So I constantly spent time alone, feeling like an outsider to those around me. By feeling like an outsider though, I learned how to walk outside, and go anywhere and everywhere my heart took me. It led me to conversations and observations across the spectrum of people. Secretly, in my heart, I am waiting everyday for the arrival of my invitation to a place where I am on the inside.
It felt like the invitation I had been waiting for my entire life was finally at my window. I walked into that room and into their lives, and just like that, they became a part of mine...
The point of this book is to not provoke, but evoke another experience of the human condition. ~Nawal
