Finding Nemo was one of my favorite movies and Dory was actually my favorite character. I'm not much a fan of comic style books, but i'm sure that a younger child would love this. They all have a much better imagination that I do now being 19 years old. The pictures and illustrations are really good. The bright and vivid colors would surely catch the eye of elementary school students. It's really cool how a book can tell a story without using words.

This book is a graphic novel that is a continuance of the story "Finding Nemo." This story takes the reader on a journey to find Dory when Nemo, his dad Marlin, and his friends Squirt and Pearl go on a camping trip and Dory goes missing. Dory is promised stardom and follows fish that aren't exactly the friends that they played it off that they were.
This novel is a high fantasy. It creates a world that is a parallel universe. The world created within the book is one in which fish can talk and go on adventures. It seems to meet the criteria for high fantasy. It is a well written graphic novel. The theme is compelling to young readers as it is based off of a popular movie. The setting in the story is a fantasy world, but for children, this world can become very real. The elements that make this story convincing are consistent; however, there is a point of disbelief that some readers could develop through reading the story.
I thought that this book was a great continuance of the story "Finding Nemo." If I were a young reader, I would be able to realized the characters and be able to connect all of the characters to each other through using the movie "Finding Nemo" to give an idea. As a teacher, I would use this book to teach my students about modern fantasy and how there are different types of stories. Not that this book was boring, but it would be something that would be used to pull a lesson back when students were straying from the topic. The pictures were bright and vivid and definitely kept my attention while reading.

If you have young fans of Finding Nemo then this graphic novel will appeal to them. Dory is missing and so her friends go on an adventure to try to rescue her before something bad happens. The artwork is really good and should appeal to youngsters that can only "read" pictures. A nice book to show reluctant readers.
