Rate this book
The Chemistry of the Blood is one of Dr. M. R. DeHaan's most widely read books. In it, his scientific background is uniquely combined with his skillful exposition of Scripture to correlate Scripture and science. In addition to the title chapter on "The Chemistry of the Blood," Dr. DeHaan also discusses such intriguing themes as "The Chemistry of Tears," "The Chemistry of the Bible," "The Chemistry of Man," and other striking truths.

A short read with powerful concepts. Author points out that the blood comes from the father. Many spiritual/Christian ideas. Helpful in stimulating questions/answers about Christ's blood. After Christ shed his blood he refers to his body as flesh and bone. May be clue as to why Jews only have bone(zeruah) on seder plate w/o blood. Book is divided into nine chapters: Chemistry of Blood
Chemistry of Conscience
Chemistry of Calvary
Chemistry of Light
Chemistry of The Book
Chemistry of Prayer(possibly weakest chapt)
Chemistry of Matter
Chemistry of Tears
Chemistry of Man

Worth the read.

This is a really good book where the author shows how true science lines up with Scripture. Dr. DeHaan published this book in 1943, so it's interesting to read about the findings of modern science in that day a couple of decades before America made her first trip to the moon. I gave it 4 stars because there is a spot where he says that the translation in the KJB is not as accurate as the Holland translation. But I enjoyed it overall.

This book left me in complete awe of God (again)! I’ve never heard of or read a book quite like this. The author’s background in science, medicine and Scripture was critical to illustrate how God made our blood, the sunlight, tears, etc to reflect the Word of God. And who knew that a mother’s blood never crossed over to a baby in the womb. It had to be this way so the Savior’s blood was never tainted. It was and still is completely pure. I definitely plan to reread and study the second go around.

Excellent book!!! Written by a medical doctor who takes the medical/natural aspects of the human body and relates it to the spiritual. Especially mind-blowing is how the blood in Jesus' body is explained from a medical standpoint and then the author draws incite from Scripture explaining what the cross signified in a whole new miraculous way!

My goodness, what a read. A book that affirms my belief that all my favorite books on Christianity come from the post-war era.

A variety of topics as associated with Biblical and spiritual truths. Dated, but timeless.

Read with a grain of salt. Some of it was good information, but occasionally he made wild assumptions that I couldn't agree with.
