The Taoist Secrets of Long Life and Good Health: A Complete Program to Rejuvenate Mind, Body and Spirit

Rate this book
Centuries before the development of modern medicine, the ancient Taoists lived extraordinarily long and healthy lives—the by products of the quest to achieve harmony with natural and spiritual forces. This guide to Taoist wisdom combines physical exercises, self-massage, and meditation to strengthen the physical body, rejuvenate the qi (or inner life energy), promote emotional equilibrium, and cultivate spiritual peace. It offers deep relaxation techniques to improve concentration and relieve stress and provides ancient herbal recipes to restore vitality and strength, fight diseases, and melt away the effects of aging.

Title in German:
Bleibe jung - mit Körper und Geist

This is a book about the old taoistic arts of meditation and Qi Gong exercises for a long and healthy life. It explains taoismn and its principles, dogmas and symbols in understandable words and tells you how to meditate, relax yourself and have a stressfree and happy life. It includes chinese recipes for health (e.g. cough mixture) or beauty (eg. hairtonicum, natural deodorant) and taoistic tips for wellbeing in mind and body.
I have already read some books about chinese medicine and have taken courses about Qi Gong and acupressure so this book is comprehensible for me. But even if you have never dealt with chinese medicine before your will benefit from the exercises – they aren´t very difficult like some yoga asanas. But I would suggest if you ever have the opportunity to attend a Qi Gong class – do it!
Charles Chan is the best example for the taoistic way of life He is 53 years old but looks about 20 years younger than his age. If that´s not a reason to start with his program – what else would be?
