Extraordinary! The three volumes of Katrina Raphaell are unequaled in terms of providing guidance on the ancient art of the laying on of stones, updated with the lens of New Age thinking and discoveries. Responsible and loving, she guides the seeker and the practitioner with an open heart.
These three volumes should be read in sequence and are:
Crystal Enlightenment: the Transforming Properties of Crystals and Healing Stones, Volume I
Crystal Healing: the Therapeutic Application of Crystals and Stones, Volume II
Crystal Transmission: A Synthesis of Light Volume, III
Her first two volumes teach the properties of the stones and present layouts for practicing the art of healing. They are excellent guides for the healer and the solitary practitioner who wants to expand awareness through meditation assisted by stone energies.
Raphaell assumes that stones come into the life of a person when the person is ready for them and endorses the magical gesture where record-keepers find their way into the hands of the person meant to open them. Because of this view, her maps are free of the ancient mariner markings of "there be dragons."
Her last volume enters a zone many may be reluctant to enter, regions beyond Earthly boundaries and experience. She does not address the need to integrate experiences but approaches all from a state of trust, assuming that the seeker will have helpers from higher levels by this stage of development, guides that will protect them from any false turns and assist them with reentry as they come back down from the metaphysical mountain.

This book really does well in including the heart value of working with stones while keeping the information practical and down to earth. Short, pleasant read.
