A very sobering and pretty depressing book. It is a collection of reports published to be presented to the government. The first part lays out the ethical arguments surrounding Euthanasia, while the second part contains documents related to the scandalous results of Holland's acceptance of voluntary euthanasia (the consistent falsification of death certificates, pressure from doctors to commit suicide, the massive increase in [illegal] involuntary euthanasia, the lack of conformance to the standards expected when considering euthanasia, euthanasia option accepted by doctors after just a single oral request, etc). Reading this book has been disturbing and frankly sickening. I hope I never end up in a dutch hospital.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in ethics. It provides arguments that are difficult to refute and hopefully people will read it and remain educated as to the reasons this practice has not been allowed for so long.
