Chakra Meditation: Transformation through the Seven Energy Centers of the Body

Rate this book
Kundalini Shakti -- the primordial energy that enlivens each of the seven chakras -- lies sleeping at the base of our spine. To return our consciousness to the crown chakra and cultivate ultimate awareness, she must be awakened. According to yogic tradition, this awakening requires a focused meditation practice. "The energy of Kundalini is aroused through specific postures, visualizations, and chants. The Shakti surges up the spine in a coiling wave of fire, heat, and light, opening the chakras." Layne Redmond brings her rare skills as a yoga practitioner, scholar, and sound healer together on Chakra Meditation. Here, she offers a complete course to break through energetic obstacles, increase the natural flow of prana (life force), and give you an inner source of power to pursue your life with purpose, passion, and strength. Finished book , now need to do seven exercises on the CD...the goal is to increase the natural flow of Prana from the root chakra all the way to the crown chakra. The chakras are the 7 energy centers of the body according to yogic tradition....the hope is to produce peace of mind, physical health and spiritual growth.

I am vaguely familiar with the chakras but totally new to yogic practices. This book is very informative and well written, offering a vast amount of information in a small book. A great book for a beginner.
