"Sa-KAH-ga-wee-ah" is how you say it folks. What an endearing and resourceful woman making the most of life as a slave. She caused everybody around her treat her as an equal even though she was purchased property!

I love these books. Especially those on the females and more especially those who weren't white-> because it was hard simply existing that way until relatively recently and they made the most of it to a historical level.

7-year-old and I are enjoying this series of biographies. Many are of well-known figures in history, but some are lesser known (at least to me) but had lives that were just as fascinating and they made important contributions in the world.

I liked about this book is that she was trying to protect her children. Some people came after her and got taken away. She was sad but she that one day she would visit them. Her dream came true because she got to go see them. She told them to stay safe and I will see you an other time.

The Graphic Library has done something wonderful for classrooms by using he graphic novel format to make non-fiction more appealing. I finally read this after having to take it home for repairs from my classroom library, because two pages fell out after its being read over and over, and I'm glad I did.

The story was easy to enjoy. With enough detail to be engaging, but also an appropriate pace and taste for the young auidences that this is aimed at, I can definitely see why my girls literally loved it to pieces. Recommended for anyone interested in this widely celebrated figure and who enjoys the graphic novel format.

A good graphic story of Sacagawea. It starts with her as a young girl before she is kidnapped. I like how it really showcases that she had no choices throughout most of her life, but also shows how she was essential to the Lewis & Clark expedition. A good addition to my classroom library!
