Although this is book #1 in he Connaghers series, this short and sweet intro reads more like a prologue.

When Rae hears a voice in the hallway at school, she's instantly attracted to it, and when she learns that the voice belongs to a poetry professor, she registers for his class immediately. That's how the story of Rae and Conn begins. Their instant attraction is hard to deny, but so is the fact that she's a student and he is her professor. So, even though they both want each other they have to wait until the semester is over.

A lot can happen in a semester, but their feelings doesn't disappear, if anything their flames burn hotter the closer they come to the finish line.

This short story is a classic example of what happens when you assume things and, doesn't take the time to have an open and honest conversation about expectations. Conn sees Rae a natural submissive and she, well she's not exactly clear on what a dominant is and in the end it culminates in a not so nice way.

Although this intro into this series is only 45 pages, it's 45 powerful and emotional pages. Joely Sue Burkhart has a knack for writing dark and beautiful characters, so this only goes to show that quality is more important to quantity

What I have learned from reading this book, is that Joely Sue should stick to fantasy because (oddly) they're more believable.

And did this incredibly short book even have a plot? I couldn't tell.

The writing was okay in this novella, but nope, I didn't like this story at all. First page it went straight into a college girl lusting after someone in the distance she assumes is a professor. It was weird. Sorry, you may love this, just not me.

Well written and enticing

Rae Jackson is instantly mesmerized when she hears a sexy and alluring voice of a man. How can the rich baritone of one man’s voice instantly still her body and excite it at the same time, like the sound of a tuning fork commanding a reaction from her body? Dr. Conn Connagher is the the sexy English professor at her university and is the man she wants and her body desires. Rae is determined to get close and learn everything about him, so she signs up for his class.

Every dominant instinct Conn Connagher possesses tells him Rae Jackson spells trouble. She’s too tempting, too innocent, too pretty and naturally submissive. And her inviting stare and enticing curves are testing his control to near breaking. But as a student in his class, any kind of relationship other than teacher and student is forbidden and against the rules.

The letters Rae writes to Conn about her deep feelings is telling and a bit heartbreaking. The letters reveal her excitement at learning pleasure from Conn, and also apprehension, in how easily she can lose her identity with a man like Conn. I love this short prequel as the set up for Rae and Conn’s story in Dear Sir, I’m Yours.

I live for student/teacher romances. This one was slightly different but I loved it more for it.

Conn is my newest book boyfriend. I just love him, he's everything.

I've had this book for forever on my kindle and every time I saw it i said I'd read it but, I put it off for one reason or another. I should smack myself.

This story has some D/s dynamic. Of course it also ends in a cliffhanger, but, thank you box set. Anywho, back to the D/s dynamic, it was written nicely into the story, explained and described perfectly, more so in part 2- Dear Sir, I'm Yours, the conclusion of Conn and Rae's story.
You can tell in the writing the author did her research.
Her characters her intoxicating, I couldn't get enough of them, I gobbled up every word, every page without pause, I mean, it's almost 4 in the morning and I'm about to jump into the 3rd book Hurt Me So Good.
I adore Miss Belle she made me laugmelon and hard with her quirks and antics, loved the touch of supernatural that was thrown in, it wasn't over done, and definitely not enough to consider this a paranormal romance.

Joely has quickly become a favorite author, every book is unique. Her characters shine bright and her story are so well balanced, they have enough of everything. And they are very satisfying.

This novella is the first work in the Connaghers, and is the prequel setting up the scenario for _Dear Sir, I'm Yours_.

Student/teacher forbidden romance. Accounting student Rae hears a melodious voice reciting poetry in the hallway. And that is Dr. Connagher (Conn), an English professor. She falls in love/lust with his voice and takes his class and they dance a dance of seduction without touching for the semester. Then at the end, he spanks her, she freaks (from how much she wants more), and runs.

Anyways, yeah, all of the tropes. But very, very well done. Rae's tension through the work is wonderful.

I’m trying to concentrate on what I’m reading, but I keep picturing you in the hallway. There were deep grooves about your mouth and your eyes were like dark storm clouds. When I close my eyes, I can see your face, and I press kisses to each one of those lines until they fade away, and the only darkness that remains is in your eyes. That darkness gives me cold chills and sends my heart pounding like a jackhammer, but I can’t look away.

I want your eyes on me.

I want your darkness.

I want you.

All I have to say is THE TENSION!

AND THAT ENDING! Was not expecting it to end on that note AT ALL, so on to the next one because I NEED ANSWERS.

HOT FOR PROFESSOR🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Rae hears a voice in the hall at school and has a very strong reaction to it and upon learning the voice belongs to a professor she registers for his only open class. So begins the story of Conn and Rae. Conn realizes that Rae is submissive and that she's in his class because she recognized that he's a dominant. This begins the car and mouse game of can they resist each other for the duration of the class. Read this book to find out. I CAN'T WAIT to read the next book in this Series!!

This book is a prequel to the next book in this series. This book is a student/teacher erotic romance. This college student is secretly writing letters to her college professor after overhearing him read poetry. I liked how this book was written but I think that maybe it would have been better if she was writing in her diary and the ending for this book was so weird. This was a fun story to read and it didn’t take me very long to read. This book was free in the Nook store on my Nook app on my phone.

I enjoyed this prequel enough to read the next novel, but ended up being disappointed by that novel. For a quick-and-dirty professor-student (sort of) read, Letters isn't bad--just know that it is a cliffhanger to set up for Dear Sir, I'm Yours. You could stop after this novel, but I think it would be rather disappointing.

This book was just okay. Frankly, it was so short and so little happens in it that I'm not sure why it isn't just included in the second book of this series. It's pretty essential for you to read this before book number two but as i said, it just should have been in the second book (which is full length). I'm not thrilled with paying the same price for both books when this one was just 55 pages long.

As I mentioned, it does set up for what happens in book two so it's essential to that.

First in series short and sweet introduction to this series.

Rae overheard a professor talking and decided she must join his class. The professor is Dr. Connagher or conn... is a dominant... he doesn’t explain this to her of course and over the course of a semester, their ‘relationship’ is teasing and vague until the night of finals things get a little out of hand. Rae panics and flees...

Novella, a prequel to set up next book. The h falls in love with his voice, H is a professor at college. I really liked how he went to the Dean as soon as he knew he was attracted to the h. They kept their hands to themselves until she finished her exams, the age difference was not too much and I loved her letters to him. He knows nothing of them, just that he is mad for her. Loved it.

A short 50ish page kindle freebie. This is kinda just an intro book full of sexual tension and not much else. Normally I wouldn’t have read it, but I obviously wasn’t paying attention. I just saw a 50 page freebie from an author I like, grabbed items read it. I might or not grab the actual novel that all this sexual tension was leading into.

Teacher's Pet

All it took was hearing his voice and she was hooked. She had to find out who he was and take one of his classes, it didn't matter which one. Dr Connagher "Conn" was mesmerized from the moment Rae walked into his class. For a semester they danced around what was to come. Would they survive the waiting or go down in flames?

This is my own fault, really, that I didn’t check to see how long the book was before I bought it. Although, to be honest, it wasn’t awful. It wasn’t great either. It’s hard to judge a book when there are really only two characters in it. It’s less story telling and more smut. But if you’re looking for smut, this was fun.

Mmm

So I heard this series is really good and although I enjoyed the first book. The ending wasn’t quite what I was expecting. No closure but also some confusion on my part about Conn and Rae.

But since I already have the whole series I will continue on. I’m also kind of bummed it’s so short. I would have it to be longer. More details.

Great prequel to the first book in the series. It takes place several years before Dear Sir, I'm Yours but has the same characters and tells of the very start of their relationship and why there is such a long break between the two.

Getting my kink on again 🙄 I got this free with a news letter and it was a quick read. I love the forbidden and I seem to have a weakness for this sort of scene - which I find a little disturbing. I’d probably give it 5 stars if I wasn’t in denial.

Saucy

I'm sitting in my favorite chair trying to regain my senses. The line you drew in the sand has me wondering how far will she go. It's been a long time since I felt so enamored.

It Was Alright

I kind of like this book but it was kind of childish to be in college and writing secret love letters to your professor. It would've been more relatable if she was writing in her diary.

I have read this story a few times, and each time, I am moved by the idea of falling in love just by hearing someone's voice. The lengths Rae would go thru to be able to bask in the presence of someone who makes her soul soar.

This was so short it's not even really a book.
I was somewhat intrigued when I first started reading, the writing style is really interesting. Overall the 'book' is pretty underwhelming though, and I have no idea why it would be split into multiples.

Kind of disappointed

Since Rae is the one who came to Conn, i don't really get it when she chose to leave him because she is scared. I think he is good enough, too good

Not my favourite Professor/Student story. She wants him because she was so captivated by his voice quoting poems, so she takes his course. They wait for the finals and then... cliffhanger
