Pythagoras the Mathemagician

Rate this book
Discover who the real Pythagoras was within the pages of this philosophical work of historical fiction. This controversial novel looks at the first philosopher from an unfamiliar perspective to most Western readers and scholars. El Koussa stands in the vanguard of a new generation of writers and thinkers who are bringing the rich and diverse history of the Phoenician culture to a new audience.

In an interview with Said Akl in the magazine Al-Afkar, issued January 21, 2002, the notorious Lebanese poet "In 2001, there appeared three books that brightened the year... the third book was Pythagoras by Karim El-Koussa, which speaks deeply about Pythagoras, of Lebanese origin, son of Saydoun (Sidon), and one of the world's giants who has greatly influenced the sciences and religions."

In October 2005, the book received two official citations for achievement in Literature in the USA; one was bestowed by the Mayor of the city of Waterbury and the other by the General Assembly of the State of Connecticut.

I am a Lebanese Author with four published Fiction and Nonfiction books. My work is a mixture of Religion, History, Philosophy, Spirituality and Esoteric inner insights. With over 25 years of extensive research into the Religion and History of the world with a special focus on the Canaanite-Phoenician and Egyptian Traditions as well as the Christian Religion, Mr. El Koussa has gathered a well rounded knowledge in the writing of specialized books that are acknowledged, awarded and widely read.

Life itself is nothing but a deep hidden insight, emerging out of the Mind of God, a Journey, which I am trying to discover—a strange, yet magnificent Journey inside the Human Life.

It has always been a query of the Human mind to know and comprehend the world we are living in and the world that lies beyond.

Philosophy, Religion, and Science have been the Knights that have fought the great battle; the lifting of the veil of the unknown.

Humanity, however, has been embedded in a labyrinth, one that very few escape. This liberation that we're all seeking as Human Beings, does not occur through the belief in Philosophical, Religious and Scientific «Dogmas & I repeat Dogmas,» but rather through the free will and the in-depth implication with & into their Esoteric hidden side - with & into OUR inner Spirituality.

As Above so Below, echoed in the ears of the wise. These few Initiates recognized in man the Microcosm of the Macrocosm. It is upon each one of us to seek Individual Consciousness, thus to be able to commune a Collective one.

It is now the age of the Homo-Cosmicus. So Meditate on the Human Potential of Becoming Cosmic on the image of Christ.

I'm happy today. Do you know why? Because I finally finished this crappy book. Optimistically, I kept going, thinking there might be some interesting nugget that made the slog worthwhile. Sadly, optimism rarely pays out, and didn't this time.

What is the book? It's a bunch of saccharine life-is-perfect BS that borrows heavily from every major religion in concocting a supposed (admittedly fictional) life for Pythagoras - it's almost nothing more than an amalgam of mystical claims and ludicrousness. The book is filled with so much that is unbelievable and stupid that what little fact and truth there is (I'm being generous by assuming here is any) is completely swamped by the sheer volumes of stupidity.

I really wish I could have those 404 pages of my life back. Don't waste your time.
