Some dudes in trucks capture some ducks and put them in cages.

To relocate them? To eat them? Who knows!

But then their trucks get stuck in muck and everything goes downhill from there, depending on your point of view.

At less than fifty words long, this is about the silliest sort of story I can tolerate.

My daughter enjoyed it when she was a toddler.

I like that the muck allowed the ducks to escape their kidnappers.

This book is great for beginning readers, since there are one to five words per page. The whole book rhymes, so it would be great for students who are also learning to rhyme words.

3.Ducks are in the trucks but the trucks are stuck at muck. More ducks came to help the ducks. More trucks came to help the trucks.
4.This book is designed for preschoolers and kindergarteners who are just getting ready to read. The words are very easy and big. Full of rhyme, rhythm, and repetition.
5.Reading time for younger students.

Funny and a ready to read book for children developing their skills. This book has lots of sight words and words that kids hear everyday to develop their skills.

Cute story about some ducks who were playing in muck and were captured and put into the back of a trucks. The trucks start driving and soon find themselves stuck in the muck. Delightful little story with words that rhyme with ducks. Easy for beginning readers.

Themes: rhyming words, ducks, beginning reader, trucks

Ideas: Fun read for beginning readers. Read aloud and pick out the rhyming words. Practice making predictions from the cover through the story.

Like many early reader books, Ducks in Muck uses short rhyming words and very little punctuation to tell its story of some ducks, some trucks and a big puddle of muck.

Ducks in Muck reminds of the Sheep series (Sheep in a Jeep, et al ) by Nancy Shaw and Margot Apple. Both place animals in unusual situations for the sake of rhyme but do pay off with cute, albeit simplistic, punchlines.

This book would be both a fun and appropriate read for a beginning reader. There are only a few words per page and the text rhymes. The story is sweet too; the ducks begin in the muck, then men come and try to take them away, but they escape in the end!

This is a good book for children who are just beginning to read chapter books on their own. This story is an easy read about a duck who is playing in the mud. There are not many words in the book and they are all in large font. I would recommend this book to second grade students.

Not my favorite story, but a GREAT book for really young kids (age 3 or so). Or for new English learners. Very simple. Cute art. :)

Adorable! Let the little ones build on their word, recognition one word at a time, while they build confidence with the change of each page.

1) no awards
2)pre-k to kindergarten
3) The book follows the story of a group of ducks stuck in cages on trucks that also gets stuck in the muck. Thanks to the aid of other ducks the trucks and duck get free at the end
4) I love how the illustration shows off the ducks facial expression and also how the book use repetition and rhyming
5 To expose the children to basic rhyming, and also read it to them on a rainy, muddy day.

This is a cute story is about ducks who were playing in some muck. Those ducks were captured and put into the back of a truck. The truck soon finds itself stuck in the muck.
I think this book is super cute! The illustrations are adorable! It is an easy read for most kids, which is good.
You could use this book for beginning readers and you can also use it to teach rhyming.
