Philippe Dupasquier is an author and illustrator of children’s books. He attended art school in Lyon, France, after which he became a freelance illustrator in London, England.

For his illustrations in Bill's New Frock, he received the Smarties Prize (1989) and the Carnegie Medal commendation (1989) from the British Library Association, and the Oak Tree Award (1990), from Nottinghamshire Libraries.

I read this again and again with one of my nephews until we both had it memorized. He then delighted in studying the pages to find something he hadn't noticed before. There was one problem, however. When we did go visit a candy factory, it wasn't nearly as interesting as the one in this book.
