Fantastic

2nd-3rd grades (independent reading)

Galbraith does a nice job reiterating with basic words such as small, baby, and different colors...making this book's vocabulary easy to recognie and have a meaning. This is a very obvious first chapter book. The book itself is small enough for little hands to hold. The text is in a slightly smaller text than regular picture books, allowing the words to pop off the page. Almost every set of pages has some type of illustration, making the text not the only item to focus on. The illustrations are done using black and shades of grey pencilling. In my opinion the book Roommates would only appeal to female students and those with siblings.

Language Arts/History

Students could do a study on the meaning and history of Thanksgiving.
