He only knew the kid for 2 days prior so I find it a little hard to believe how willing Dr. P is willing to go.
I agree. I didn't find his willingness to sacrifice himself (even his daughter to some degree) for a patient he barely knew. I guess he had formed some unhealthy attachment to him quickly.
Counselors have have this altruistic sense in them that they must help at all cost, I totally get it because as a counselor I keep my work and clients in my heart and running through my head often. I'm always wondering what can I do to better serve them. It's all about achieving a work life balance.
