Ged Gillmore Hi Tom, saw your post re Le Carre. I'm trying to find writers of similar quality and readability. Any suggestions? gg

Tom Allen LeCarre's Cold War stuff is, in my opinion, very rich. His post-cold war stuff tends to be polemic in nature. I like Graham Greene a lot-- especially "Our Man in Havana" and "The Quiet American". Robert Littell's "The Company" is engaging as sort of a novelized history of the CIA and seems to have enough of a historical foundation to be plausible, but it lacks the insight that Lecarre's books have on bureaucracies and moral conflict that arise along with trying to do the right thing. David Ignatius's books like "The Increment" and "Body of Lies" books are also good and seem to approach LeCarre's style and depth, though both are set in the post cold war world.
