It's only natural for fans to be critical, they want they're favorite characters represented in a certain way. I don't doubt her acting skills but i feel that they could have casted Rose better. And whitewashing is more than "not being tan enough", i feel that it's insulting to cast a white actress as a non white character
first off Rose IS tanned! because shes described as a "Desert Princess" a cross between Scottish and Turkish, so she is actually tanned and if you check the books you'll see she IS white and i'm not trying to be rude i'm just letting you know the facts from the books
and it doesnt matter who was chosen for Rose because would still be critical because Rose is a book character and there isnt anyone who would look exactly like her,
rose really is tanned said so in the books more than once and haley's right there's no person in the world who looks like her
by the way people need to stop using the term "white washing" so freely because this isn't the case here...
I didn't say she wasn't tanned i said that Zoey tanning for the role isn't going to make her Turkish. And i know that no one will look exactly like Rose but i don't feel that Zoey naturally looks enough the Rose described in the books. And yes i know she isn't in costume in the pictures i've seen but that's just my opinion.It's fine that you guys like her as Rose i just think they could have found an actress that fits the description better even though no one will look exactly like her.
Would you rather an actress who looks like rose yet sucks at acting? and being rose in general? or someone who can transform into rose yet is an awesome actor? it's not like rose has a set description, dark brown hair, tanned skinned, curvy and tall. That could be alot of people. She'll transform. Lots of people hated jennifer lawrence for katniss and look at it now....Everyone has a different mental view for rose and remember casting directors can't please everyone...they casted someone who can be molded into rose and do a kick ass job at acting
Again i'm expecting to be wrong, this is just my opinion based on first thoughts, i hope that she proves me wrong but i'm a skeptical person when it comes to movie adaptions, i've seen so many killed and really don't want another favorite series butchered
keep in mind that no matter what books and movies would always be different, a series can't be butchered by a movie because a series wont be anyless awesome if it has a sucky movie adaptation : )
yeah ^ :) and just btw wait till she's in character before you judge how she doenst look like Rose, at least Zoey is curvy with dark curly hair, is all we are trying say, no ones trying to be mean, its just your saying that you dont think she doesnt look like Rose but you havent given the crew to make her look like Rose, so until then dont say she doesnt look like Rose because thats actually really un-fair
No no not the series themselves the opportunity to make a wonderful adaption of the series is butchered.
I know i know, that's what i mean when i say that my opinion will change and this is only based on first impressions.
well even if the movie is a fail *hopefully wont i have faith* they'll always be the books to fall back on always : ) plus richelle mead isnt done with the VA world even after bloodlines so that's promising .and What Haley said.
True, i'm just a perfectionist. I know that you guys aren't trying to be rude but i'm skeptical by nature, this is just what i do when i' m not sure about something.
plus i kinda fangirled a bit that the acttresss and i are both "zoey" my name's zoey but I put Zoel for a bit of difference. I'm excited for the movie and I get how u feel therealbadkitty
i might have a little panic attack when i see who is gonna be christian and I might panic
but i'll just panic after i see the movie : )
no one messes with my baby christian.
So i get the anxiety and the hope that it'd be good and the horror movie makings have done to our lovely books in the past : ) so keep on hope, no judging till acting and transformation. tehe now if only the rest of the fandom would follow suite
Yeah i'm a little scared to find out Christian too but since i think that Dimitri is perfect, i think they'll most likely find a suitable Christian.

i expected rose to be buffer!!!! i mean to have at least a more athletic built!!!! but im not hatin on zoey deutch....so long as she is as badass as rose on the silver screen!!
