Morgan Renshaw Interesting POV. However, my story takes place at the beginnig of XX century when things and people were a bit different. The reason why Albert didn't have a reaction like any of the children today would when he was told who his father was is because the duke had established the nature of their relation when Albert had the cold and unfair meeting with him. The second reason is that Albert has the psychology of a very ambitious child and reactions are controled. And perhaps Albert waited to be acknowledged and received propperly by his father.
When Albert meets the vampire S in the forest he has a late reaction as S takes him out to safety and safety was more important.
Albert falles in love with Josepha. He tells her he loves her and is ready to deepen into love to see if he would loose his soul, even if he was a man who had been through the thickets without prejudices of the pleasure of the flesh (I believe his brothel experience changed him).
My novel is a story told by the main character - a man becoming a vampire and fighting the evil - a reflection of what he lived, thought and felt.
