K💜 my review is very legitimate and i rated this book 5 stars. firstly, this is an indie author, some errors were expected but it didn’t take away from the story. secondly, the author is French therefore her English isn’t the best but nevertheless if you translate the word “horn” to French. It’s corns(cornes). Thirdly, to accuse someone of using AI on a work they spent their time writing is very ridiculous. i truly think your statement should either be altered or redacted.

C R I S Your review is laughable and I'm sure that's the sole purpose for you to even accuse this author of AI. Also, that's the passage that you decided to conduct a research to out her for? LAUGHABLE. Sweetie, it 2024, leave trolling in the past. Authors surely should band together so that "corns" should be listed as a trigger warning for you. Girl bye.

message 3: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Oni This review is completely unfair and untrue. What it seems like is that maybe you struggle with reading comprehension. The fact that you think she used AI because of corns instead of horns due to a mistake is laughable. Amethyst’s writing is probably one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever read. Please be more mindful when you make such severe accusations like this. This can ruin her and all because you have an opinion with very little proof to back it up.

message 4: by chloé (new)

chloé rose I don’t have a thorough review posted yet but I will say it’s legitimate and to come at anyone else’s reviews is childish.
humans make mistakes, that’s the beauty of being human but to through around a wild accusation of AI writing is completely insane.
it’s okay if you can’t get behind the dialogue or sentence structure and it simply isn’t for you but what’s not okay is to throw accusations without any other information. this book touches emotions and depths that you wouldn’t even know about because you didn’t get more into the book, and that’s fine, and you’re entitled to your opinions but not when it’s dragging someone’s hard work and saying “this is AI.”
I think some people need a simple reminder that not every author is american based and that english dialogue and spelling is not the end all.
she’s a french author who had a spelling error - but don’t sit there and call her writing AI because you didn’t enjoy something.

message 5: by destiny (new)

destiny what in the ever loving fuck is this review. accusing an author of using ai writing solely because you couldn’t understand the writing style is actually mind blowing. it is absolutely okay if you can’t understand the dialogue. many authors have different ways of writing based on where they’ve studied, speaking/writing in english. in this case, this author is a french writer. many authors have mistakes in their books. many authors have spelling mistakes. don’t sit here and troll around saying that this is a work of ai. you are accusing amethyst for using ai based on what? a fucking spelling mistake? you’re jokes. you’re a troll. you’re a fucking bot. amethyst’s writing is one that had me completely enthralled. it’s beautiful. it’s pure. it’s everything. an accusation like this could ruin her reputation and in doing so have her second guessing herself. your statement is based on something you didn’t enjoy about the passage/book. check yourself before coming on here and saying some dumb shit like that.

message 6: by Rasel (new)

Rasel Ismael Having an opinion is one thing but accusing an indie author who worked very hard on a book of using an AI is something they could sue you for, because first it's ignorant and second it just shows how shallow minded you are to be throwing such accusations for the mere reason that you did not comprehend the dialogue. You could've said it was too well written for me to understand or that it's not my thing. There's no reason for you to say that it's AI written. Fo you know how dangerous and damaging to say that for an indie author?
And I'm telling you again you either delete this statement or change it because the author could sue for that

message 7: by Rasel (new)

Rasel Ismael Oh oops I wrote Fo instead of Do now you'll accuse me of using AI

message 8: by lexiiireads (new)

lexiiireads hey girl! after going through your 5 star ratings, i can see this book clearly isnt something you usually read so i understand why you wouldnt be able to appreciate art like this! i was one of her beta readers and i was there for her throughout the entire process while she was still writing the book so i can definitely guarantee it wasn't written by AI. Never hurts to do some research before you throw accusations around 🥰

message 9: by C R I S (new)

C R I S The “many authors” you speak of are your twitter following who don’t get the context of the passage, be for real.
“the streets are saying this might be ai”
“i feel like the author is not american”
All verbatim from your nasty twitter thread.
If you’re a hater, just say so but don’t go around accusing hardworking indie authors of ai. It’s defamatory, insensitive, and dangerous.
Alas, a troll will be a troll. Do better.

message 10: by Ruby (new)

Ruby What the fuck??? That's completely unfair and a big accusation to throw around over a simple mistake. Humans make mistakes, authors make mistakes. It's 10000% not AI. I was an early ARC reader and have seen a lot of the stages of this book. The reviews are legitimate. It's okay if you don't see the beauty of her writing because you're too busy hated on people you know nothing about. Do your fucking research.

message 11: by jas (new)

jas Girl did you just accuse this author of writing with ai based off a TYPO?! 💀 AI would’ve caught that, humans make mistakes. Check yourself please.

message 12: by destiny (new)

destiny you most certainly can’t handle the heat. and you most certainly do owe this author an apology for accusing her of using ai. someone mentioned that you could get sued and i hope you do. no one in the book community stands for this. your one bad review isn’t even a fucking review. it’s an accusation of one of the worst things an author can do. it is just simply wrong. you are wrong. your “authors friends” are your twitter followers who don’t understand the context of the screenshot because it is literally just a screenshot that explains absolutely nothing. you are not welcomed in this book community for continuous accusations like this. and i’ll say that with my chest.

message 13: by thezombiemami (new)

thezombiemami I agree? It doesn’t flow well even as proper English idc, I’d be confused too.

message 14: by Lilyya (new)

Lilyya ♡ yeah, nah. posting a hate review because you didn’t like the author’s writing style and the book is one thing. but, to drag the author’s name and throw accusations left and right about the use of AI is another. that’s called “defamation” not sharing your opinion.

message 15: by chloé (new)

chloé rose awfully quiet for someone who simply owe the author an apology for a wild accusation, better be cause you’re tying to figure out what to say and you might want to be careful next time you say such careless nonsense on the internet

message 16: by destiny (new)

destiny LOL 💀 she’s so quiet it’s hilarious. and to see the dms and comments but not answer ? we just want a chat. but oh wait … we’re all blocked huh ? there’s a thing called an apology. clearly you don’t know what that is. “this is the community you’re walking into” fuck yes it is. we’re not about to sit around here and let you make false accusations like this. goofy

C R I S *AUTHORS BEWARE OF THIS READER*
It's one thing to not like a book (clearly that's not the problem here because sis could have said she didn't like the book and kept it pushing) but it's DISRESPECTFUL and INSENSITIVE to accuse an author of AI with no evidence besides her "feelings" aka her twitter followers hyping up her accusations with no context. Then this reader has the audacity to block anyone who questions why she made up the accusations in the first place. Go ahead sis, continue with your twitter fingers like you didn't make a big mistake. YOU OWE THIS AUTHOR AN APOLOGY AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO YOU SAID THEIR REVIEWS WEREN'T LEGITIMATE.
It's also hilarious how in your update, you didn't mention anything about your accusations. Yeah sis, this is a community where we defend authors who are being recklessly accused. Where's the problem?
The issue is that it's not one bad review, it's that accusing authors of using AI is harmful and dangerous. Will you point the finger at other authors who you "deem" is using AI? I didn't know this had to be broken down for you to understand that your accusation is DEFAMATORY.
Make it make sense. Oh wait, you won't because you're butt hurt people are calling you out. You're the problem here and it's baffling how you can't see that.

Pompi - pom.preads Writing your opinion and review is another thing and accusing is another..maybe you could have said, 'the writing is not my style ' something like that but this accusation is not a small thing especially when it's an Indie Authors (especially when you don't have a legitimate proof)

Hope you understand why we are saying this... I will not tell you to delete or anything but maybe look upon what you said and do things accordingly. Give one star it's okay, but the assusation is way too out of hand!

message 19: by destiny (new)

destiny telling your friends to attack this author is actually disgusting. are you serious? we do not claim you in this beautiful book community. we do not want you here. it was one thing to say your opinion and thoughts on how you think this is ai. ITS ANOTHER THING TO STRAIGHT UP BULLY, ACCUSE, AND CONTINUOUSLY TRY TO RUIN ANOTHER PERSONS CAREER. you are not welcomed here. many people have come to me talking about how you claim “you do not support bullying” yet you are doing the exact same thing. people have said you do not take accountability for your actions and this proves it. you are wrong.

message 20: by Nicole (new)

Nicole I randomly came across this book because the FMC is supposed to be part of the Lebanese mafia. First, the amount of hate you are receiving is absurd, people have too much time on their hands. I am sorry to see that but continue to ignore them.

Second, the FMC's name is Zanae Delle which is ridiculous. I am Lebanese and I live in Lebanon. I haven't heard of anyone with this first OR last name, a bit more research could've been done.
