To answer your question regarding what happened to Candy--yes and no! The closet scene and what immediately followed is real, but the backyard scene was inspired by a game of tag that my older brother and I played when we were kids visiting my adult brother at his new home. Fortunately, my brother came out of it okay--dazed and confused--but okay!
