The author credit in this book is wrong; the author is John F. Burton, and the illustrator is John Davis.

Amazon lists it correctly.

The John Davis page is still a muddle of various authors' works.

As for John Davis there are at least 48 different pages with that name currently. If you can provide a list of other works by the same John Davis, I can group them together, otherwise it's normal on Goodreads to leave authors on pages like that.
