Kirk Jones Hi, Ben. Interested in what didn't work for you with this book.

Ben Fritz Hey Kirk,

I thought I would learn more about the history of autism but it's instead primarily it's a bunch of badly written, overly long mini-biographies of people involved in autism's past and present with no discernible logic to their order. For instance, the section on Hans Asberger is full of pages and pages of details on the history of fascism and Austrian society that could have been summarized in a paragraph or two in order to get to the alleged point of the book. I gave up when I realized I was reading about the hobbies of the grandfather of a different autism researcher. That is not what I got this book to learn about.
