Jen Jen, I will be interested in his take. Maybe I was a bit harsh, but I have read so many phenomenal books this year already.
I agree with you, Tracy, especially about the YA aspect, no depth, and predictable. It just felt so superficial and the dialogue to me was totally flat and painfully two dimensional—all in the service of the plot and not like actual people talk. It felt like the book version of an over-wrought 1940s movie.
