Aww shucks. I preordered a hardcopy so no such luck.
Okay, I feel like I shouldn't read this review until I pick up Exit Strategy... oops, I took a peek anyway, but I am definitely gearing up to meet Dr. Mensah again.

I hope that she will release it for everyone, maybe on her website. It’s super-short but still nice to have for a Murderbot completist.

It’s better to read after Exit Strategy. But it’s a cute little story nevertheless.
I pre-ordered on the Kindle store and also didn't get it, it's almost as if she didn't want people to read it haha

That’s why I’m thinking she will probably eventually release it for more people to read. As it is, it’s almost entirely inaccessible, even to people who would be willing to pay for it. A Kindle release for $0.99 would have been perfect.

You’re welcome! It’s a tiny little story but it’s a nice glance into the world of Murderbot through a different character’s eyes.

Of course it is. Apparently we can only enjoy freebies for so long. And that was the story that was almost impossible to track down anyway. Ugh.
I will never understand why authors would go to the trouble of writing a little tidbit like this and then make it nigh impossible for their fan base to find and enjoy

In Wells’ defense, it was meant to be a bonus for those who preordered Network Effect. Having it available through that link was the second chance for all those who, like me, just paid for that book without preordering it from Tor.
It would make sense to have included it for everyone though. Or at least putting it on her website. Unless maybe it something that she can’t so contractually? I have no idea.
On the topic of GR sucks - for the last week especially, I keep getting notifications for stuff a day later or so after I already replied to people; getting comment notifications magically pop up and disappear so I need to go manually through my latest reviews to see which ones have new comments; or have comments displayed one day and missing from the review the next. Although I don't plan to switch to Storygraph 100%, I at least plan start leaving my backup reviews there because it's getting ridiculous here at this point.

I’m pretty sure it’s the usual awfulness that they tend to have before a major change rolls out, and my guess is that it’s those book pages that are going to be thrust upon us from beta version.

That has been the case for me for at least a week or even more as well. Notifications for most comments come through with 7-10 hours delay which is annoying. Like I said above, I think that’s the not-too-atypical GR glitching before a major update as I recall similar issues in the past, and I am guessing it’s that godawful beta version of book pages that will soon become the default.
But I haven’t yet seen review text disappearing before. The whole review - yeah, that happened before, but not just review text. Well, it will teach me to back things up more diligently — I’ll go through my reviews this weekend to see with which backups I’ve been slacking off.
