Yeah, I read it a few weeks ago and I really couldn’t get through the sexism. It started getting really grotesque.

It is a LOT of sexism, and that's without even considering how deeply difficult the "plot" is to comprehend and understand - I stuck with it, but if it wasn't for the bookclub thing, I probably would have given up 20 pages in (and wouldn't have regretted it, tbh)
Yeah, exactly, it was alarming that the sexism was the only thing I could keep up with. For some reason he really made sure that was understandable and everything else was totally nonsensical lol

Seeing some of the reviews, there's a part of me that wonders if I'm just not getting it, but also - yeah, I'm definitely not getting it at all lmao, and the first read broke my brain enough that I refuse to try reading it again. My tbr's long enough without trying to force a second read of this one in an attempt to understand something that I probably won't end up understanding anyway.
