I am glad you found this one just as captivating as your previous reads. You certainly wrote a marvelous and convincing review. As you probably know, we saw it a bit differently, but that is why we read together--to share other thoughts and observations than our own! I always profit so much from reading with the Dickensians group, and you are a big part of that. This was a re-read for me and improved by a full star. I still think it has weaknesses, but I accept that it paves the way for Scrooge and Dombey and Sons, so what is not to love. I have two more unread Dickens and then a lot of revisiting to do.

That's very true, Sara! Thanks for your kind words; and I hope your two unread Dickens books prove to be rewarding. (I still have five of his novels on my to-read shelf, plus a couple more that I've marked as to re-read.)
